  1. If Western Kentucky was Michigan, sure. I’m sorry, as bad as we’ve been, I’m not going to be proud of going on the road to WK and losing by 12.
  2. Is there a GoFundMe? ET, the most positive fan ever. get well. Bring back Tamplona!
  3. I figured I’d get here late and some UCF fans would have invaded this topic. That said, aside from the shot at the end, the article is fair. I think most topic related posts from 2009-2014 reflected these concerns. My comparison was more Cincinnati who was in our conference and were all in on the arms race back then. That said Houston and UCF were doing the same things and continued to do it when they entered the Big East/AAC. We got conceited with our quick rise, and couldn’t put into place what was needed to continue it. the current admin looks like they’re changing that. Let’s become the best team in the AAC, have a shot at the playoff and go from there.
  4. Jesus. The guy hasn’t even been a coordinator for a minute. What the **** are we doing?
  5. It was exactly what it was, just a concern raised. USF was prepared for it, they also went in stating the goal was to have a OCS by 2030 (don’t hold me to that year)
  6. It was definitely odd timing. It could go either way with it. That said, the Big 12 did express concerns over control of the venue, which USF had the Bucs and TSA assure them it would not be an issue.
  7. I think it’s a matter of when at this point. The Florida game showed some life, but Florida really played down to us as we were squeezed between 3 ranked games they’ve played. Even then the passing game was absolute ****. Bohanon looks lost on there. The line is awful. Whatever playmakers we have are handcuffed. The defense is atrocious. It’s over. Go get Scott Frost and rebuild this.
  8. In 2009 that was the hottest effin game of my life. Sitting with my fam again (Gator Alum), but should be fun, even if lopsided.
  9. As the product sits now, a very large vomitirium.
  10. Timmy can’t take a sack there. The second that play was stuck he needed to chuck it. Not take off.
  11. I work in Division 1 athletics. Yes that’s an exaggeration. It’s over because now the we’re panicking and going to throw ungodly amounts of money at the program with zero plan. It’s a ******* mess.
  12. I’ve said it for 6 years. We lack the solid foundation for any coach to be successful. While not nearly as dire as FIU, administration has basically pumped money into other sports and into the wrong parts of the football program. It’s 2021 and we lack an indoor practice facility (I know, it going up…4 years after they finally pitched it). The program has no identity. What I mean by that is they have never embraced building a donor base. They just run a skeleton crew of people who call around and beg for money. The idea of having an online GoFundMe type fundraiser for a football facility at a school that wants to be a major player is unfathomable. The fact that they let it run for 4 years even more. (That isn’t to say other schools don’t do that, but look at the ones who do) You could hire Nick Saban and he would struggle to attract talent and win games. We ignored football and when we were in a spot to capture that magic (16-17) we didn’t run with it. Now we have trustees running a stadium out to hope there Big12 will notice us. It’s too late. It’s over.
  13. There is a lot to unpack here. Most know on here, I’m in college athletics. I formerly worked at a school that considered bulldozing their stadium and moving to a NFL venue. (Before my time). They ultimately decided against it even though it might have made economic sense. The economics are there to show there is a benefit. Now, most reports deal with the absurd amounts of money being thrown into college athletics (specifically football) and the benefits the campus derives (donations in other areas). paying Nick Saban 10 mil a year is absolutely preposterous. When you look at how campus donations have increased heavily since he went to Alabama 15 years ago, it matters. It’s the same reason Willie Taggart got axed after 18 games at FSU. (Although this might not be the best example) The idea that basketball or other sports can serve in the same capacity is absurd. Even the most tradition rich basketball schools (Kansas Kentucky or North Carolina) use football as an primary economic driver in the form of reunions, etc. That doesn’t mean they ignore other events, it just means they don’t hold as many. I do think the OCS could have a profound effect on the students, but a bigger effect because it will require alumni to return for the game (should they choose to attend, lol) You can argue otherwise. That’s youre opinion. I think we can all agree whatever has happened to get us where we are in 2021 is a failure of admin and football ops. There is no one answer. If changes aren’t made soon, it’s only going to be more difficult.
  14. A few things from this thread. Legion Field. Probably done. The bowl game. The Magic City Classic. All that jazz is being pushed to UAB’s new stadium. Chairback seating. No brainer it will happen. It won’t be the whole stadium, but it will be in plenty of areas. So many schools are converting premium seats from Bleachers to Chairbacks. FSU already has and the Florida just made a similar announcement. Necessity. The debate for 10-15 years. During that time we’ve seen teams with off campus stadiums or their own stadiums slowly dwindle. Is it necessary? Financially, no. That said, this program is about as dead as you can get. Admin spent years pointing to Raymond James and neglecting the changing landscape of college football. It’s 2021 in Florida and we still lack an indoor practice facility. The trustees watched as the Big 12 grabbed UCF and panicked, undoubtedly. That said, there is that hope that the Big 12 goes bigger. If we’re serious about wanting to be in that discussion we need something more than pointing to the size of our TV market, because that’s what the SunBelt just used as their dynamic in expansion…the Big 12 relied on the strength and life of their programs as an added qualifier.
  15. Don’t do this to yourself. Saturday was a great push in the right direction that we all needed. This team will struggle to win 2 more. We’re not beating Houston. If UCF has Gabriel that’s a tough go too. I do think Tulane and ECU are very winnable if we play like we did Saturday and against BYU.
  16. I can tell you that is not true at all. That said most states have blocked that loophole that existed in the 80s.
  17. Yeah. I said yesterday, I questioned the move to punt, but I think he was stopping things from blowing up.
  18. It’s hard when your QBs are firing passes off or dumping down before routes develop. That’s part of our problem. Im excited for Timmy, but he’s very raw.
  19. The lines were the most glaring difference to me too. UF going with Jones over Richardson (I was there my my UF family) is insanely puzzling. They start or play Richardson more we probably are not having this thread
  20. Aside from QB a lot Of their starters were pulled when it was 42-13
  21. You don’t think that 2nd Quarter is why they took their foot off the gas? We played better than I thought we would, but we’re not a very good team. Florida look like a team in the second half that was trying to get The clock run out before playing the number one team in the country next week. They were taking us to the house.
  22. I think this board is so used to being ****** we can’t wrap our mind about how badly UF pulled the plug in that second half. The biggest evidence of that came from our own coach when he punted on the 50 at 4th and 8 down 3 scores. Also Mullen taking Richardson out to get Jones goal line reps that led to no score. (I did find the boos funny) I still am not convinced we win more than 3 this year. This team has a potential star in McClain. We need a lot of help on both lines. Skill positions looked good too.
  23. With the wealth of unbelievable talent we’ve had since 2009 this has to be true...
  24. We’re making progress. I said back I. 2007 it was shortsighted not to have committed a future plan for a football only facility (whether that included an OCS or not). Facilities aren’t the sole reason for our disappointing years, but they do factor in and are key to rebuilding.
