Been to several bowls, but most memorable were the first one, Meineke - I recall getting interviewed by local Charlotte new station on our way into the game, which was cool. El Paso was the most fun (beside the game itself) - remember a great pep rally the day before, and I think we had a Bullspen get together as well which was fun. I remember the locals getting rowdy, fighting in the stands and rolling down the steps. That was wild. Then our cab driver almost convinced us to go into Juarez late at night on NYE. Glad we didn't. We spent NYD at the Hooters in town, basically from 10:30am to closing - saw 3 shifts of waitresses, and they claimed that only one group had ever gone through more pitchers than us 3, and they had 5 people. Flight home was rough.

OK, then the next question is: how do you feel about our MOST MEANINGFUL GAME, in six years, being played against Charlotte?
Right now, I'm glad it's against Charlotte and not Tulane, SMU, etc. Unless we lose, of course.

It is pretty sad that some idiot in the athletic department either came up with or approved these ridiculous uniforms. It's just laughable. Any nearby body of water is fair game now.
Looking forward to the Lake Tarpon uni’s once we start conference play

If Army replaces SMU as the existing schedule stands, Army and Navy would come to Tampa in 2024.
Yeah, that was the original thinking, but the comment I quoted indicated that it may not be that simple as it might end up with Army on the road for too many games. If we had to finagle it so that we went on the road to Army in 2024 I'd be ok with that road trip.

Apparently according to vpmk they start as a full member in 2024
Schedule is being reworked but not as simple as replacing smu with army because of (1) agreements with existing opponents and (2) rules around travel (eg if SMU was away at Rice, UTSA, and UNT and maybe Tulane all in 1 year that's not a big deal but it's a raw deal for Army)
I'd be up for a trip to West Point next year

Great, looks like I will miss my first game. Both kids have games in the morning.
Just now, Mike Stuben said:This is one of my biggest complaint with the AAC's ESPN deal. If ESPN doesn't want to air the game on one of their 12 cable channels, then the home team should be able to pick the kick time.
Making us play at noon, and no tv is wrong.
Exactly.........I don't get it.

Is semi permanent another word for temorary?
I think I just had an indentation from Bucs vs. Bengals in 1995 disappear a week or two ago. There has to be a categorization between temporary and permanent.

Yes, I had never been to the old Sombrero and cannot speak to their seats
Having flashbacks of metal bleacher seats and the seatbacks leaving a semi - permanent indent on my knees

As much as I want out of the AAC, after going to Navy this year, I'd love to make a trip to West Point.
