  1. I can see a Division 1 world where the current conferences are only for football and all other sports are played in 24-32 regional "conferences" of 10 to 16 schools each with the top teams from each region going to a 64 field national tournament in each sport where it makes sense. We're in the AAC for football and the Florida/Georgia 16 for everything else.
  2. We need the payout badly so I really hope this game is played, with or without fans and they don't weasel down the payout due to no game day revenues. I cancelled my flights and airbnb 6 weeks ago. If fans are at this game, not sure I want to be part of any opening college weekend experiment. GO BULLS - HOOK THOSE HORNS!
  3. I'm not sure it's worth $2.5 million to try and go back to some glory BB days. They could have basically accomplished the same (at no loss in revenues) by beefing up the BB OOC schedules with a few BE teams and other high profile BB schools.
  4. Cancelled my UT airbnb and low cost flights a few weeks ago. Sigh.
  5. Browsing the TV guide and stumbled on this. Tonight midnight to 3am on the ACC channel is the replay of South Florida at Georgia Tech 2019.
  6. I've said this before...move all fall sports to a schedule starting in mid November or early December. College sports can't be played without the fans and i think we're fooling ourselves thinking that gatherings of 1,000 to 100,000 are going to happen before then. What happens if we go with it in September and it's a disaster (either no one shows up or there is a big recurrence of the virus and deaths) which has to be shut down anyhow after one or two games? Not planning for a winter-spring football season is simply foolish. Just my opinion.
  7. haha. Found in my home office on a bookshelf with all my other Bulls giveaways. I really don't know what it was as a giveaway.
  8. Started wearing this yesterday. Found it in my office and I don’t even know what it was for - maybe an arm sleeve giveaway?
  9. You just called me what I already called myself with the addition of a two letter adjective. It's all good. (I still say there is no football played before November. There will simply not be enough revenue to start a season prior to then. Hope I'm very wrong.)
  10. Debbie Downer here, but me thinks there is no way we have a season this fall. Even if we could play, schools will be hit hard by out of work fans cancelling season tickets, not buying tickets and not making donations. TV revenues without advertisers would be drastically reduced. It would be pretty dismal. How about just postponing the entire season from September-January to February-June? Hopefully things will have greatly died down and people will be back to work to be able to buy tickets and make donations. Move all fall sports to after the new year. GO BULLS (whenever you play)!
  11. I guess those bad OCS decisions we made 10, 20 and even 55 years ago (AB wanted to build us Busch Stadium in the 60's) are looking awfully smart now. Given the new normal and the new economy, our OCS will never be built. I'm resigned to that fact and ready to move on. I now love RayJay (just a bit of cynicism)! GO BULLS!
  12. So sorry Jonesy. I posted that on the heels of hearing that our president wants to relax social distancing to give a jolt to the economy. I need a deep breath and also need to be more optomistic.
  13. Um, ask Hong Kong how that return to normal life is going. Really hope I'm wrong but I think we're all dreaming about a full season and have to agree with smazza on this one.
