RT, you speak as if you are attending Yale or Harvard. UT is no better than Stetson despite what you may think, but let's not debate the point on this thread. While I would very much like to see USF open a law school, it probably will not be in any expansion plans for a long while; however, the potential for any expantion of USF's professional programs is exciting, and these programs will raise the school's national profile.

If WVU beats L'Ville, and we beat Pitt, the USF WVU game will be billed as the Big East Championship game. I want as much attention on our game as possible.

Tampa seems to be very short-sighted in this regard. On the one hand they will trip overthemselves trying to lure far-off teams to play here on occasion so that it can benefit from the traveling fans, but at the same time they fail to invest in the home program that will, if properly supported, be bringing in big time football teams on a regular basis. How silly is that? If Tampa had a shred of common sense, they would be doing whatever it took to ensure that USF was getting great 1 for 1 games scheduled with marquee opponents.

While the pro's and con's of tradtional college stadiums v pro stadiums can be argued to infinity, I think thig biggest negative to the O bowl is the unsavory part of town in which it is located. Fortunately I got to ride a bus there, because I don't think I would have wanted to park my own car there. The class of people attending the USF games in RJ is totally different. And while there can be drunk and rowdy fans anywhere, I can't envision ever wanting to take my little girls to the Orange Bowl in thier USF cheerleading uniforms like I do when I go to RJ Stadium.

If we did beat them in 2008, I hope we cancel the 2009 trip to the swamp, and force them to come to RJ if they want a chance to settle the score.

Unlike the support of a pro football team, college Alumni actually stand to benefit economically (albeit indirectly, but benefit nonetheless) from the relative on field success for their respective football teams. As USF team becomes more nationally recognized, applications from highly qualified students from out of state will increase along with an increase in applications from in-state students. The additions standards will rise and the perceived value of the USF degree will begin to rise. It is happening now, and as USF success in athletic endeavors continues all that is associated with USF academics will benefit as well. We get called a commuter school by T.V. analysts and various media and self-proclaimed experts. The term is used not to accurately describe our student body’s living arraignments, but rather it is meant in a derogatory manner as to suggest that the school is inferior in all ways to some other institution. In fact there are many schools that are perennial top 25’s that can be classified as commuter. If one were to apply a strict rule of percentage of student body living on the actual campus, schools like Ohio State and Georgia would be considered commuter. However we rarely hear the word commuter unless it is being used to define a perceived lower echelon institution. Sadly many in the public buy into this bunk – a result of living in an age were style almost always beats substance. So I do in fact get a bit peeved when I see fellow USF alumni waste their support on programs of other colleges. Especially on those with which USF directly competes for those resources. Especially when it is wasted on U (so arrogant that you think that the only reason someone did not go was because he could not get in) F.

I don't usually criticize the players since I never played the game, but PJ is not fun to watch. You can see him get flustered as the defense rushes him, and then he makes just awful passes that are either too high, way too low, or within reach for the defense to bat away. Honestly, while I don't want Severino to start either, I think he showed better poise and accuracy than PJ.

Do our recruits get underrated because they commit to USF, and so for some reason they just seem less impressive than if they were committing to an LSU?
