  1. At the beginning of the season I figured we'd lose to 'Bama, TCU, SoMiss and had L'ville @ 50/50. The UAB game just bit me when I wasn't looking. At that point in time I figured we'd win against UAB and was hoping we didn't screw up and lose the last game of the season to Memphis. Unfortunately...
  2. ...this has something to do with baseball. Apparently, there are people out there who follow the sport with considerable enthusiasm.
  3. So I can get me some tube time! Yes indeed sportsfans, if this is the college game on ESPN, no reason not to do it! Exactly how do you figure it's not about money? We don't put games on TV for altruistic reasons. It is - and will always be - ... all about the Benjamins. 8)
  4. Mike just sent me your info, so you're in the database and on the mailing list.
  5. Don't really know. As Julmiste is tagged as a starter, today it looked like Kraky/Banks duking it out for the #2 spot. Then again...all it takes is a wrecked knee or ripped shoulder, and all of a sudden #2 or #3 is now your starter. I just didn't see anything today that set the world on fire. 8)
  6. Assuming that the spring game is a measure of what we can expect this fall, this could be a long - albeit not necessarily losing - season for the Bulls. I did not see any QB performance that really stood out as a relief from what we endured last year. As for attendance, I would attribute that to two things: 1] Easter weekend and 2] poor marketing on this side of the spit. While I appreciate the Times effort to sponsor the game, I don't think I saw anything in the Trib, nor did I hear anything on the radio this week. The tailgate went well...got to put some names and faces together, and thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a good time. This was a good practice run for the fall! I would assume "Pulitzer" will be floating some shots our way soon...sidelining it with J.R. Reed & Huey Whittaker. 8)
  7. Given the way games get shuffled around for TV, in particular as applicable to USF, I would hold off on making the reservations until as close to game day as possible. Would that not also get one off the hook in the event of an emergency and you're not able to travel?
  8. We were thinking more along the lines of a "Caligula meets Animal House" road trip.
  9. The Times is sponsoring the game so I imagine that weighed into consideration as well. (Oh yeah...as opposed to having a sports venue in TAMPA named for St. Petersburg... ) Didn't Hopps sponsor the game last year?
  10. There was a big ad in yesterday's St. Pete Times (for some bizzare reason, they've been landing in my driveway for the past week). I thought about going over there, but decided against it.
  11. I voted no, so if you want to shoot...take aim. I don't believe a printed magazine has anything over what's available on the web. I believe it went belly-up over finances anyway, but with the advent of the www...you'd have to have a serious pent up demand for print media to cost justify ink-n-paper again. You may want to cough up $65 for what is, in reality, a hardcopy of what's available on the web, but I'd bet you're in the minority. BTW: I subscribed for a few years before it passed away.
  12. 18" pecs w/48" 'guns' would pretty much relegate him to looking like Popeye...which is not at all what I recall him looking like..
  13. It's part of our new and improved "don't ask - don't tell" policy.
  14. I attended USF from '92-'94, but never attended one sporting event.  My interest in - and donations to - USF athletics began with the advent of football.  I have since joined the atheltic association, continue to purchase football season tix and attend a few basketball & baseball games per year. If USF had never gone the football route, I doubt I'd have ever even developed a marginal interest in hoops/baseball.
  15. Same here...I'll just change the date 8)
  16. Same here....spin it however you want, but I just can't muster the interest.
  17. I'll keep my thumb on the pulse of  fast breaking sports news from the intersection of Berkley Road and 14th Street (zip code 27858 ) ÂÂ
  18. I don't know...they could be a bit bent out of shape and looking to "channel the aggression" after UGA.
  19. No reason not to practice...I'm sure Steve Horton and others are working to clarify his position and standing with the university.
  20. Don't underestimate the power of ND - winning or losing.  If they do join a conference (which I doubt), I would assume Big 10. Here's the 2K4 schedule: Sept. 11 MICHIGAN Sept. 18 at Michigan State Sept. 25 WASHINGTON Oct. 2 PURDUE Oct. 9 STANFORD Oct. 16 vs. Navy (East Rutherford, NJ) Oct. 23 BOSTON COLLEGE Oct. 30 at BYU Nov. 6 at Tennessee Nov. 13 PITTSBURGH Nov. 27 at USC
  21. I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not. Then again, once the money starts flowing - you'd be surprised how big your "family" can get. Cousins you never even knew existed come out of the woodwork. And truthfully, you never know how many of those signed balls get e-bay'd, family or not.
