I just moved back to Tampa after an 18 year stint in Maryland, so I haven't been to many home games in Tampa over the years (since 2003) until this season. This gives me a certain perspective that allows me to appreciate the positives (while still feeling the pain of the negatives of course).
Even though there aren't 30-45K fans in the stadium yet, another positive IMHO are the new (to me) in-stadium traditions that I hope will continue...
- The USF Wizard is fun for the fans. I saw the thread on here from 2017 but I never got to see him on the jumbotron until this year.
- Singing the alma mater with the word QUEST loudly accentuated. I believe there is a funny story behind how that got started, but I love that it is "ours" now.
- The green lights before the 4th quarter (see the other thread on this). Keep that going!
- Seeing and hearing Grothe on the big screen was cool. Not sure how often they do that with USF legends, but the more they do that the better.
I just hope the progrum can get close to the thrills from 2007 one day. I had to experience all of that from Maryland, and after last night's game, I want to be able to soak it all in in person. In the meantime, my green and gold goggles will stay firmly in place and I will love every little "new" positive that comes our way. Go Bulls!
