Rightfully so and yes there are a few potential studs. We know Jaziak has been getting it done and Ruiz and Brutcher have show solid potential. But it is FAMU and we should "ball out" against them more often than not. Ironically, Brutcher's PG analysis projects him as a primary pitcher so there may be some potential there as well
They have hit it well in every game. Struggled finishing in some but they have hit it. Pitching is weak but, if this lineup holds up, a most of it has come from the last two recruiting classes.
my point really being there has been improvement. You can see it in the at bats we are taking.
I thought Bru was here as a pitcher, It’s possible CBM just wanted to get in the groove one way and bring in pitching as we go. Might see him get some innings soon.

We start talking baseball and NEB turns into Puc.

Good seeing the young players ball out. CBM recruiting has been called out but there’s a few potential out there.

Has a college baseball team ever lost every game before
Not sure, But it won't be this one.

Jasiak finishes the first game with seven strong innings. Needed that, Bulls take game one 3-1.

Three run bomb for Hogan, Bulls up 3-1

Ruiz is gonna be special

Get a little work distraction on a Friday at the very least

pesky dates...... Also shows how truly invested I was last season.

FWIW, Fulmer and Brown are both great coaches.

This is true, just didn't expect to see USF starts when I went to look him up. lol

Why would he hire an OC just to screw with us? I don't get how that makes sense. I guess it could be a side benefit and if he thought it would help with the boosters maybe?
In the traditional sense, it doesn't. But, he is hiring him to coach the things that he does best so the theory has some legs that he would have chosen the lesser candidate because it was a spot he could easily micro manage. I don't think its the case, though I think also gus's name power and their recent run of success could have landed a better CO-OC candidate.
-
Its a **** move if the motivations were primarily to screw with USF. No way to really know that for sure but its possible that there is a better candidate available and he chose Bentely due to his USF connections. . I for one couldn't care less about Trips thinking its a **** move and Gus is a ****. That ship sailed for me when he put on the black and gold.

I was thinking this was a new recruit

So not our coach, this is more concerning but also not quite the same as getting poached
not one that has been officially announced, no. Apparently, he can't take any position until the summer
"As part of his South Carolina contract, Bentley, though he was not retained by new Gamecocks head man Shane Beamer, will be paid by the school through May."

The University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida are separated by roughly 100 miles, compete often for recruits and likewise battle on the football field... -

It's Jaziak and pray for rain at this point. He needs to start on Saturday to give us a shot at some W's unless we are planning on winning 1-0 on Friday night every week. I liked Brutcher and Ruiz. Not sure why Lane isn't in the lineup every game. Not a fan of Mitchell at the plate. Didn't get to see Rivera. There's a lot of holes in the offense to fill before we truly get to "competitive". I've defended Mohl or at least said give him some time but he appears to really struggle at recruiting bats or they appear to forget how to hit when they get to USF
Lane will hopefully find a way in the lineup even if it is as the DH. Cantu looked good too. I’m thinking Mitchell will give up a spot for Cantu unless he is that much better defensively than Eaton.
Cantu may play first as well.

It is going to be a long season if the peak is “competitive.”
Just gotta readjust the perspective. For me, it comes down to watching individual growth and being super jacked IF it all works on the scoreboard. I liked Brutcher, Ruiz, Mitchell, and Rivera. It didn’t all look good but there were flashes. Pitching is what it is.
-
It’s gonna look bad early on, but there is a lot potential in the freshman. Don’t be too shocked if they figure something out and we look competitive at the end.
-
Left them loaded again. Just can’t finish.

Bottom of the 3rd bases loaded FGCU goes to the pen with 4-1 lead. One down

We have 68 hits in 6 games. Have 10 or more hits in all but the seven inning game. They are hitting 315 and slugging over 800. Yes, Ruiz, Bru, and lane are the leaders but they aren’t doing it all on their own. The other are contributing here and there to get those numbers. It is early but I don’t it is as bad as some like to make it out to be, at least offensively.
explain Cantu being all or nothing, I feel like he’s been pretty consistent and only 3 Ks
