You are missing my point and making another. I never said anything about racism just that having an all white staff may make it difficult to recruit POC. Think of it another way, if you were a black student getting recruited by an organization. One org has people that look like you in leadership roles, the other does not. Assume all else is equal which are you going to want to work for? Not that you want to work for people that look like you, just that you may think (right or wrong) that the one that is does not won’t promote you.

If they can't see how diverse USF has been over the last 15 years, we don't need them here judging our current staff based on their race. They can go to another school. If they want to win football games, we want them here.

Maybe not say anything but they would be thinking it. If Deion had an all black staff everyone here (including me) would be giving him the side eye. There are white players too. I bet their parents would notice.

I would see zero problem if Sanders did that. I simply disagree that every group in society needs to be perfectly representative of demographics at all time.  Your focus is clearly not where it needs to be.

On a rarely talked about aspect of that issue, maybe there is a chance of synergy with people of similar cultures? On the flip side, maybe it leads to comfortability which can be negative. I don't actually know the answer here, but neither do you.

At the end of the day, society is trying to get rid itself of actual racism. And when you complain every time a group is not a direct representation of demographics, it honestly makes race relations worse. People start conflating actual racism with this type of micro management.

Sure they would. It would be statistically impossible if that happened and there was no bias.

There is an absolute zero percent chance anybody makes a thread on this board about a mostly black coaching staff and complaining about it. You're so delusional

The single biggest failure in USF history was accepting the BE invite ........... that one was for you, Brad.  :shade:

Here I'll finish the sentence for you "the biggest failure was accepting a BE invite expecting a conference championship immediately after". Expectations.

The “failure” by the administration was taking for granted that big time success could be had without consistent investment in facilities, etc. But if you’re sitting in RJS on that Friday night when we stunned WVU or on the road at Auburn, are you thinking - we need to do more to keep this going. Probably not, but they should have. And ultimately, the failure that many see was the decision to fire Jim. Looking back, perhaps that’s right. Maybe he was going to take things to the next level. Or maybe he had done all he was going to be able to do. We’ll never know.

Dave you seem like a great USF supporter. I just want you to know that the single biggest failure in USF history was firing Jim Leavitt the way they did. This is not even controversial. Stop telling yourself nonsense about facilities or funding.

So what you wanted was mediocrity in conference play, and when we went to a bowl game against a BCS/P5 team we got our collective a$$es handed to us.

Some of you are sipping way too much memberberry wine.

This is an amazing resume for a team that just started football, and for you to frame it as a negative for coach Leavitt deserves many downvotes.

This is my final comment about Coach Scott....He never gave me the impression that he could motivate a player or the team. I was bored listening to him on the radio. I have never met a good or great coach who wasn't a great recruiter/personality.  In sports like football and basketball, being a great recruiter/personality is a 1A/1B requirement.

Here is the thing about USF football. The school doesn't care about those kinds of things. What is REALLY important to them is 1. can you stay out of the negative spotlight (really any spotlight) and 2. Don't get too fired up. That reminds them too much of Jim. Jim is bad. Positive vibes only.

  8. I really wouldn't care if USF gets 2 wins a season from Jim Leavitt. He did such a fantastic job here that I feel giving him a few years is equivalent to when you give a disabled kid the free run to the endzone. He just deserves it man. It gets me hyped just imagining him coming back. I know I'd be back in the stands again.

  9. I completely agree that Jeff Scott should be spared of any insults. I have no animosity towards somebody who probably put in their best shot.

However, are we certain that the USF athletic director doesn't need insults thrown his way? From an outsider's perspective, just a Tampa native, this looks like sabotage. When do we grab pitchforks?

He is in a no win, he shouldn’t speak until he is ready to fire CJS, whether that be today or the end of the season. He will get blasted anyways because he deserves it.

What?? "He shouldn't speak until he's ready to fire CJS"??? I don't know how anybody associated with USF football tolerates Kelley for one more minute. He better start speaking.

The AD and the HC are officially the enemy of the fans. Both should only be approached with "Why have you not resigned yet"

If we don't fire CJS now, we are sending a signal that we are not interested in being anything more than a bottom feeder program. And by we I mean VPMK. And up to Law and the Board.

Exactly why this AD needs to be removed now. There is no reason we can't start trying new people at the coach position. Somebody on the staff has to be worth something, and what better chance to evaluate than to give an interim coaching position right now. Can you do something with this team. If not, purge the entire program.

  12. Is there nobody who is influential at USF going after Michael Kelly's job?? We can only blame Jeff Scott for so long. I just don't understand the passive atmosphere at this university letting this garbage go on for so long. At this point, thinking of USF just angers me.

We punish passion like Leavitt, but reward non stop losing with extensions.
