  1. Now that’s how you hot take, convinced me
  2. Today was students moving back into campus and tomorrow is the balloon drop and pep rally at the MSC welcoming everyone back wouldn’t be that crazy of a time to show off the initial renders
  3. Don’t think the collective would completely make something up though could actually be renderings tomorrow, just of the water tower or something?
  4. Todd Orlando’s last game was against WKU, so he’ll be pretty familiar with what works and what doesn’t they let up 24 in regulation before losing in OT. Only 2 teams let up fewer to WKU in regulation last year and one was Auburn. Very bend-don’t-break. 571 yards allowed. But on 13 regulation drives they only allowed 3 TD’s and 1 FG. forced 2 turnovers, 4 punts, and 3 turnover on downs
  5. I can kind of see a package like that working if Gerry bought into being an H-back. Threat to take off running, run a route, etc.
  6. Any chance Florida copies? If you would have said 5 years ago there would be fan collectives legally paying high school seniors...
  7. Best case? Jeff Scott was most of our problems and Golesh is a wonderkid playcaller. Going up against a MUCH weaker schedule (we get WKU/UCONN instead of BYU/Louisville and UTSA/Memphis/FAU/UAB instead of UCF/Cincy/Houston/Tulane) USF rolls to 10-2 record. At 5-1 going into homecoming vs FAU USF unveils the OCS plans during the festivities, including a new strip of bars a quarter mile from the stadium on the Fletcher edge of what used to be the claw. We crush FAU so bad there is no talk of a rivalry afterwards. Golesh decides to stay after the season because we just got invited to be the FSU ACC backfill. Worst case? Todd Orlando is no better than the last couple guys to try and fix this defense, Golesh's offense has growing pains. But with the tempo that means quick 3 and outs back to the worst D in the country. FAU crushes us and Tom Herman leads them to a NY6 bowl, all the talk is about how they made that and a final four in 1 year. While we haven't made a bowl in 5 years and a NCAA tourney in 10. We get passed by another Florida school in relevancy. We finish 2-10. The fanbase becomes so apathetic USF decides to go back and redo the stadium design for half the price, which pushes back the opening date by a year.
  8. Who would be our protected cross division rival? -Cal could be a trophy game. If we win its a Bull market, if they win its a Bear market. AAU nerd bowl type **** -Stanford is battle of the bays. -Colorado State is battle of the "why do these teams always suck even though they burn through cash?" schools
  9. Matt Baker has made it a point to mention on twitter before that he doesn't root for USF, just reports on them. Any inside scoops should be leaked to Charley Belcher for local reporting. This is the attitude that should be pushed in the local media for non-alum locals.
  10. Pretty sure Crean lives in the area now. Amir was an assistant under him at Georgia
  11. Pretty great video to roll it out Can't wait to see a USF version of this
  12. Is that land owned by athletics? If they earn revenue from leasing out that land does athletics get extra money that could go towards the stadium debt?
  13. 100% Also the networks are already realizing they are at risk of over extending themselves and the bids got a lot lower for the PAC. It’s like buying a house. The network might like one for $x per square feet. Then they might be willing to get an addition at that same price. But they also have an overall budget just because they can afford 16 schools for 480 million doesn’t mean they can afford 24 schools for 720 million
  14. They should totally tweet out the stadium version of this tweet after the BOG approval just to drive the fans crazy “Who’s ready to see the USF stadium renders?” then 3 weeks of radio silence on it as twitter fans get pissed off. Then during the Alabama game on national TV Michael Kelly joins the booth right after kickoff and they show the renders on TV along with the jumbotron as he hypes them up.
  15. Hard to tell with all those logos in the middle, but looks like were the 4th tallest as well. Crazy were heavier than Georgia now...
  16. Teams around 10 percentile points or more lighter than us: Temple, Tulsa, SMU, Navy, UTSA, Rice Golesh's strategy of spreading a team out so they can only add 1-2 guys to the box, then running down their throats unless they leave all the wide outs one on one could do wonders in these games
  17. Looks like its just the 2023 rosters, compared against all rosters since 2014
  18. Have looked over this chart a few times and don't see any of our conference mates higher than us in average weight percentile. If Golesh turned around an undersized team to the biggest in the conference with our speed, the sky really could be the limit this year...Trying not to get hype before the games start but its hard.
  19. last weeks board of trustees meeting mentioned USF's stadium is going before the board of governors this month so have to imagine one of those committees is taking a look at it. Agenda is up for next weeks meeting and mentions Law's goals for the stadium this year are: 1.) Receive approval by the Board of Governors for debt issuance as required by BOG Regulation 9.013 2.) Complete design phase
  20. Seriously, why do fans care about how rich an athletic department is so much? rutgers was way closer to being a contender before they joined the Big10. what is there left to spend all this extra money on after everyone has great facilities too? Texas spent millions renovating their locker room twice within 5 years, that just seems wasteful theyll always be able to poach our coaches with that extra money but that’s about it
  21. Agenda for next Tuesdays BOT meeting went up. on page 97: “Project approved by USF board of trustees in June and being considered for approval by Florida board of governors in August. If approved, project is anticipated to open July 2026” see they meet August 18th at JP Morgan in Manhattan, then end of August at UF way that’s worded makes it sound like it may be the last approval we need…
  22. Romano had a piece in the times today about Golesh, mentioned the players will be sequestered in a nearby hotel without access to their cars during training camp Have we done that before?
  23. Bulls Unlimited with Sharp/Johnston were interviewing players the past couple days and the UF RB transfer said this they basically said Golesh is known as a crazy hard worker, can you give us an example of a time you’ve noticed this he replied with how much effort he’s spent getting to know everyone. He knows every player, coach, and employee in the building’s name and where they’re from. Think he mentioned he’s pushing all the players to do the same too
