Weird 24 hours for long tenured, successful football coaches tapping, or being tapped, out with Belichick and Carroll gone, too ...

An agent must’ve tipped them off about the Bama opening. They will now need to compete in an American gladiators style tournament for the right to coach Bama.

One at large team from any conference ACC/B12/ND so they can say Acc/b12 can have multiple teams if they were ranked high enough. I wish they could give every fbs conference a representative.

Here it is what I think it will end up being

How generous they would be to give the non-P2 members 4-5 spots in their playoff. Is the mouse that kind of an overlord?

    How about the JPP backflips?

The golden eras are a different subject. Most of the players from the dark age are still too raw to be discussed. The inconsistencies, the heartbreaks, and the arrogance. The bad coaching, culture/program doublespeak. It all started with that Strong purge… the rest is history. Glad we have turned the page on that mess.

My problem with that is say Washington wins but their star qb gets hurt. Does the CFP then invite Georgia since they are healthy? Injuries should never be factored into the equation. It should be strength of schedule, top 25 wins, top 25 wins to teams ranked at the end of the season, conference championship titles, and undefeated.  Problem is there are only four teams able to get in and being honest Georgia is probably better or as good as every thing in there. Georgia got left out, OSU got left out, and FSU got left out. Using the quarterback's injury as a way to leave them out was wrong, embarassing, and should never be factored it. This is why the 12team CFB playoff needed to happen from the start. All  power/g5 conference winners in fbs football should get a spot and the rest should be open to the best teams left.

Watch the 12 spots will be like this if these shenanigans keep up:

    Sec winner

    ACC winner

    B10 winner

    G5 winner

    B12 school

    Sec

    sec

    sec/B10

    b10

    ND

    SEC

    ACC or B12

This could easily become a sham if the committee isn’t balanced or kept in check.

FSU is coming off looking like a bunch of babies throughout this process. Bottom line is that they didn’t deserve one of the 4 playoff spots after their star QB got hurt.

They definitely look whinny. I think this was about sending a message more than anything. It will have dangerous repercussions. Sportsmanship will take a hit and scores will be run up, because no one will want to be left out. They earned a spot and should’ve been in based on precedent. The council of Sauron, err, I mean playoff committee can’t just pull **** out of their ass to appease the SEC and everyone else be damned. If this keeps up just abolish the committee and bring back the computers

General consensus is they're fine!  I am more interested in how this shakes out for USF.

I’m sure almost any conference will take them, but I’m not sure if they’re full of bluster or if they really have an ace up their sleeve. We are seeing more predictions that this could blow up the college football environment, so it could be good, it could be bad, we will just have to wait and see how things shake out.

Brown dropping bombs on a dime .

That kid really stepped up and matured. I was pretty critical of him, especially early on. I’m impressed how much he grew as a player over the course of this year. Having him back is a huge step forward for the program. We haven’t had a qb like this since Q, and BB is already shining.

I would be more bummed about UNC and UVA leaving.

Don’t see UVA being a serious option for the SEC. I think V Tech would be ahead of them. Plus Virginia is pretty far north for that conference. If 4 are moving over then they may want to try to capture the two largest fan bases in their current states, potentially lockdown those rivalries. FSU, Clemson make sense in that regard. Would they pull the Wolfpack to create something in North Cackalacky? If not, that fourth team could be G Tech. Would make more sense than moving into the middle Atlantic.

  9. All I care is that we find a way to beat UTEP or whatever the name of that west Texas cc is in the ccg. Memphis and Tulane will be down. Tulsa will still be in flyover country and there will be too many **** owls on our schedule. Miami doesn’t look invincible and if we can improve upon the blueprint we may get by Bama. Let’s hope the defense showed its true self yesterday and we can play like that consistently next season. This is way too early, but start looking up sage grouse recipes now
