  1. If it helps, I'll call MK right now and give you a good recommendation. (it won't help)
  2. That sums it up. We've gone down this road before. Square peg, round hole for a few seasons before realizing your 2 and 3 star linemen can't protect a pocket passer. I would assume a "good" coach would do some research of player personnel and realize what system will work before accepting the job.
  3. Might as well add your name to the list. The more, the merrier. I'm sure quite a few on our list have all ready been eliminated.
  4. Unfortunately, I think it will be similar to the 2013 season with a new coach, new system and Strong's existing players. The cupboard isn't completely empty, but it's going to take a few seasons of recruiting to get the right players. Hopefully the new coach goes straight for dual threat, Gulf Coast type offense and avoids the pro style experiment. I guess this all changes if we hit a home run and get a coach that can pull in some quality recruits this year and start the re-build early.
  5. I wouldn't hold your breath. Wasn't he a KB recruit?
  6. Technically, they could break ground tomorrow and then just announce a bunch of unforeseen delays every 6 months and stretch it out until we actually have the money to build it. Who knows, maybe the excavation will unearth that indian burial ground that was supposed to be under the Yuengling Center.
  7. He's a glorified offensive lineman at this point...At least he's getting some blocking experience for the next level.
  8. Luckily yours is young enough not to notice the bad product on the field. I thought about tickets next year, but I think my negativity is starting to rub off on my son. He still enjoys going to the games, but I really don't want to ruin it for him. We'll probably take a season off and see what happens after that. Maybe a few weekends of fishing will cure me of my negative outlook.
  9. Did you watch the game or just check the stats after? Defense made stops and gave the offense two picks and they did nothing but 3 points. At the worst, it should have been 21-21 at the half. USF offense had the ball with 2 minutes left in the half and instead of running out the clock or even attempting 1 running play, they tried throwing 3 times and gave the ball back to memphis for another td. Defense gave up after that.
  10. This is just a bad team offensively. Receivers either run wrong route, don't get any separation or half-ass their route. QB is mediocre at best and probably has PTSD from being sacked so many times. The best offensive option is relegated to blocking because the offensive line is a sieve. Only bright spot was the running game. Defense played well enough to win, but saw the writing on the wall and mailed it in after halftime. It all starts with the offensive line. Until that is fixed, no QB will be successful. Not the starter, not the backup, not the backup to the backup....
  11. Glad it wasn't just me. I even tried different browsers to see if that was the issue. It's always ESPN's fault.
  12. I believe the preferred nomenclature is Native American....
  13. Easier said then done. I hope one of you hits the lottery to pay his buyout. This is USF, not FSU. There won't be any loaded donors stepping forward to throw away money for Strong to be replaced. If there was, we'd all ready have an IPF.
  14. We're still 4-3 against them but I was being cynical in my last post...
  15. Exactly this. The positive thinking fans on here have just accepted the fact that he will be here next year. If watching the team makes you that miserable, find something else to do with your time. If you think the team is a bunch of losers, move on. I don't think anyone called it a moral victory except the misery loves company crowd. If I'm going to the game, I'd rather focus on the positives than sit there and nitpick everything bad and be miserable. There's not much left of the dead horse carcass, it's been beaten so many times.
  16. I'm with you. I was at the game and saw a team that wanted to win and the effort was there. Apparently, not the regular kicker kicking. They hold onto one of those almost interceptions and we're talking about a win today. McCloud made some throws, but he is a redshirt freshman and isn't going to be perfect. Offensive line did their job. I can't really complain today.
  17. With the team's performance this season and the uncertainty of Strong staying or leaving, he probably likes his odds with MTSU.
