  1. I think he's done all he can do in the AAC. If his ambition is to take the next step, he'll have to move on to a better conference which attracts better recruits.
  2. At times, it seems some think he has the "get out of jail free" card in his back pocket and chooses not to use it....
  3. It sounds like if he hits the weight room during the off-season and continues to improve, he'll get some meaningful playing time next season.
  4. I had to do research on this one, you have to pay to play in the WNIT and the WBIT, but unlike the mens NIT, it's not run by the NCAA.
  5. For a school that is in one of the bigger conferences and goes to the NCAA tourney on a regular basis, it's probably easier to turn down the NIT because they feel it is beneath them and it's rewarding mediocrity. With our history, we're just happy to still be playing in March, no matter where it is.
  6. I should have known they wouldn't sell that fast probably slowly releasing to encourage FOMO....
  7. I would bet the ticket brokers probably bought some of those to re-sell.
  8. wow, did they just sell all 200's that quick? I'm sure the 300's haven't been opened yet....I was able to grab a pair quickly, but there were only about 6 left when I got mine.
  9. I have to wait until 2pm to buy peasant seats, but I'm sure they won't sell out by then...
  10. Not to dig up skeletons, but didn't that involve the illegally propelled ball call?
  11. I'm guessing the casual basketball fan only watches the NCAA tourney and that alternative tourney is just lipstick on a pig...they still weren't good enough for the NCAA tourney. Maybe fans of the team watch it....but I'd have no interest....only reason I'll be watching an NIT game is because USF is playing.
  12. and pretty sure losing to them twice invalidates the statement they were a team we should have beaten.
  13. (Short answer because of NIT revised selection guidelines) NIT took the 2 highest ranked NET teams from the Big 12 not taken by the NCAA tourney. Those would have been Cincy and Oklahoma. With Oklahoma opting out, the next highest net team was UCF. They took Kansas St. as an at-large team which had a lower NET than UCF. So if Oklahoma didn't opt out, UCF would have taken K-State's place and had the matchup against #3 Iowa and we'd probably be playing Oklahoma.
  14. Can a mod edit the title to the correct day? I know most know it's Tuesday, but would hate for someone to not go to the game thinking it was Wednesday......
  15. and the way things have been going for us the last few years makes me very paranoid.....
  16. At this point, my expectation of ESPN are pretty low. I can't wait for the season to end so I can stop paying for this garbage station.
  17. This situation is hot garbage, but all we had to do was beat UAB to avoid the clown show.
  18. I think Tulsa only has 2 real scorers. If we can keep Haggerty at his average of 21 points or below, we win. Easier said than done, I know.
  19. Although a failed regime, I think Byrum was close to the top in GRIT score and he didn't turn out too bad.
  20. At least we don't have to discuss why NET shouldn't be a factor in the decision process anymore....
  21. It would be great if it happens, but my money is on Kentucky so he can get national exposure.
  22. You can tell he really cares about his players, I doubt he leaves after one year and screws over the guys who came with him from Kennesaw State. Yes, they could transfer, but hopping to a new school is still a hassle. After they have graduated, maybe he moves on, but I don't see him leaving after one season.
  23. Isn't that just one writer's opinion at ESPN? It's not like they polled the AP writers or a group of head coaches.
  24. I'm sure future seasons will have more difficult OOC opponents. Coach set up the schedule for a team playing together for the first time and predicted to finish 9th in the conference. We lost to weaker OOC teams earlier in the season so scheduling tougher teams would have still resulted in a loss.
