What a year 06 turned out to be.

I don't want to be that overly optimistic guy....

But....

I'm looking forward to seeing what we are made of  next weekend.  I have a few reasons to think next weekend could be a closer contest then most people think.

 

1) I believe it was BJ's first ever start when we beat FSU up in Tally so techinally we have more experienced QB's going in to this game. QF is as athletic as BJ. BJ's wasn't quite the passing threat he became when we beat FSU.

 

2) Imo, we have better skill players now than we did then. Most of the offense in that win came off a few splash plays and we are capable of that this time too. 

 

3) Special teams were massive last time we beat the noles and our special teams might be one of the streanghts of this team. I think our special teams can really help the defense with field position.

 

It's true noles weren't as good then as they are now and our defense was probably better back then, but all things considered I think we have a punchers chance. Anyone else agree with this?

We need a Nate Allen, a George Selvie, a J.P.P. , and Mclain on defense to show up. Can the Bulls we have now make those kinda caliber players? It's possible but not likely yet.

 

Again I ask are interceptions really going to be that a big a deal when you've got this defense backing you up?

 

 

Absolutely.  This is a team based on a power run game.  We aren't going to score 30 points every game, especially if we can't throw all that well. We only win with low turnover counts.  

 

Taggart allegedly picked Flowers because he turns the ball over less.  If he keeps turning the ball over, Bench will be in there.  

 

 

 

 

 

   I almost got that last sentence out without laughing.

 

He only turned it over once so come on its not like he gave it up 4 times.
