Tampa, FL - The South Florida Bulls entered year two of the Jeff Scott era last week with a 45-0 drubbing at the hands of N.C. State. This week, the Bulls welcome the powerful Gators to Tampa for a first ever home game against UF.
It appears the Bulls will be holding steady in terms of starters and adjustments. Coach Scott conveyed lack of execution doomed the Bulls against the Wolfpack. You could say this was reflected on the score and in the stats. The Bulls will try again to execute.
The Bulls last played the Gators in 2010 - the only time they have played the Gators. That was at Florida in Coach Skip Holtz's first season at the helm. The Bulls fell 38-14. Sportsbooks don't think it will be that close this time as many list the spread at or around 29 points. Many arm-chair bookies are putting it closer to 50.
Bulls QB Cade Fortin (7-20, 41 YDS, 0 TD, 1 INT) is expected to get the the start again. Fortin looked slow and rattled against N.C. State. Should he continue to struggle, we can expect to see freshman Timmy McClain (7-13, 126 YDS, 0 TD 2 INT) again.
Raymond James is sold out of publicly available tickets, but tickets do remain on the secondary market. Expectations are that the crowd is going to overwhelming be Gator fans in the 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
