  1. As a freshman who just moved in yesterday, I have met a few people who are just as hyped as I am. I can not tell the overall hype just yet but if the team plays as well as we all know they can the students will definitely show up.

  2. Wish I could go, but I'll be in Naples that weekend, on a couples retreat...and trying to find a way to watch the game on my phone discreetly. I guess the fact that I'm surely going to try that means I need a retreat.

  3. Congrats on your wise decision to attend USF! We'll count on you to be our "insider" to give us updates on attitudes of the students.

  4. Thought it was about his 19th birthday party tonight, instead: Doesn't it feel good Bulls fans?

  6. There are times, though .... like when, late in the Spring Semester, she had the interview for the internship and I had to tell her where the Selmon Athletic Center was .... and then again this week when she asked where Corbett Field was. What is cool, though, is that she plays USF Club volleyball and gets to play representing the colors ...

  7. You and I were there at the same tîme! I remember moving into my dorm (iota) and thinking how cool it was. The new dorms on campus are amazing and make the old quad look like prison (glad they are all being torn down because they remind people of the civil war)

  8. ****, pretty soon it's going to be cheaper for you guys to fly from Tampa than for me to drive from New Hampshire.

  9. Moved into Delta hall in '09. Man what a first season, not quite '07-8 but I was hooked after that. Then Skip happened.

  10. Yes, Beacon Hall and Summit Hall are open. I'm not sure if The Hub (dining hall) or The Fit (fitness center) are yet, but they're supposed to be this fall. The other three (Pinnacle Hall, Horizon Hall, and Endeavor Hall) are scheduled to open fall 2018. Publix is scheduled for spring 2018.

  11. The Great 8 made some fantastic seasons for us. Thank you Mr. Grothe. I agreed, best hit ever by a USF player. Blew that guy out of his shoes.

  12. I for one do not care. Waited 20 years and listened to other schools remind me about zero conference championships. I am fine with cashing in all the chips for a championship. I'll worry about tomorrow...tomorrow.

  13. For UMass I will wear green regardless where I sit, I want to enjoy the game not worry about what friggin color shirt I should be wearing (yes, get off my lawn).

  15. Thank God it wasn't "the Coach" Doug Graber. Watching some of the old games - my 13 year old could do better game analysis. Always funny to hear Al Keck introduce him as coach of the Frankfurt Galaxy. Nobody under the age of 30 would have a clue as to what that means.

  16. So, if you're gonna go all math on us, do you agree that 8 = average??? It's also the mean, just sayin. And no, in this case, 7 won't eat 9

  17. Its funny you say that because when I saw him on Bayshore Blvd after the end of the Gasparilla parade, I told him (and Auggie/DJ) good luck this year and then told him go get that Heisman. I actually thought about it later and felt like, " I hope I just wasn't one more of many that are putting that pressure on him". Not that my one statement by itself is too much pressure but I'm sure he hears it all the time. One thing about Quinton is that it seems like if anyone can handle pressure, its him because of the strength.

  18. I will never get tired of seeing this types of videos on my timeline. It's even better that it's now one from the Bulls.

  19. The hype is real. Hope Q can ignore it and have a monster season.

  20. No one has been really talking about Tice in terms of our RBs. He could be the most important element as our O is designed to suck in defenders with power game then hit them with an up tempo passing attack. I think Tice will have a tremendous year.

  23. But the question is those people are already buying season tickets and, thus, donating but what about the people that don't go to games AND don't go on campus? Will those people suddenly start going to games and then seeing the campus improvements. I might be a little slow but I don't see how having an on campus stadium gets people that aren't going to football games to start coming to football games. And, if it does, what do the improvements to the campus have to do with getting them to football games? If there were people that visit the campus now and don't go to football games, will seeing the stadium get them to go to football games? I just don't see the correlation. People that are going to games might enjoy walking around the campus in the same 95 degree, humid weather that keeps them from going to games now. But, then again, maybe not.

  28. Sorry for getting to this so late. Here is what you have to remember. Season tickets are the lifeblood of the program. So, first, you have to save plenty of good seats to keep selling season tickets. August is the busiest month of the year for sales, so there will be a last moment bump, there always is. Second, you also want to be careful what you do with the seats around your biggest donors. If a Bulls Club donor is giving $100,000 a year, they probably don't want a drunk 22 year old (not that there is anything wrong with be 22 or drinking) sitting next to them with seats they bought on ticketmaster. If a game isn't going to sell out, why risk it and open up those best seats and possibly alienate a big money donor. The big money seats are never sold as season tickets on ticketmaster, those come from dealing with people. Also, you have to hold lots of seats for non-season ticket things - players families, athletic staff and their families, cheerleaders and sun dolls family, all the extra game day people (like the anthem singer and the clock operator's mother). Often those are pulled from better areas. Some sponsor deals would call for X number of tickets to a certain game. So there are lots of used tickets that aren't sold as season tickets. I didn't even mention the visiting team fans. Also, any seat that was sold as a single game ticket can't be sold as a season ticket. So once a group or a single game seat is sold for any game, it comes off the season ticket map. Finally, (remember, I am now over 5 years removed from my time in Athletics) but we also had a debate about the value of those great seats, should we sell them at a higher price (like $200 a ticket). I said yes, others said no. I understand both sides of the discussion, but I don't know the current group's thoughts on this. So, that map looks right to me.
