Coach Skip Holtz - comments from his speech

First, that guy can talk and is a hell of a motivator.  He blows CJL away.  Second time I have seen him and have to say, he is da bomb. 

He said BJ was one of the best QB's he has worked with since he was an assistant at Notre Dame.  Said the offensive line will be impressive this year and is going to be the strength of this team. 

Weak areas he has concerns the WR position and punting. 

Note: in the next week or so, we are going to get an announcement on 4 or 5 transfers that will really help.  He would not elaborate anymore than  that.

I can't wait for this season to start, I think we finally have some leadership that is going to motivate these players to do incredible things.

Hoping one of those tranfers is Bowens

I actually hope that one isn't Bowens. I mean the guy has been hurt for 2 seasons so who knows how ready he is. I'm hoping for a USC transfer! Someone who has actually played football recently.

Countryside business meeting in Clearwater.  Friend of mine is a member of this business group.

Guy plays a position that we desperately need. I think it's worth the risk for one season if we don't have someone else in mind.

Holtz knows that our best record in the BE was 4-3 and that teams like Pitt, Rutgers, and UConn that play trench football not spread offense have given USF problems.  He knows that to be successful we have to be able to handle that team and it takes size and strength.

Holtz said today he would rather play UF, Miami, or FSU than UCF.  But, he did not rule out UCF, just said, you have to play the best to be the best.    I liked that, plus you know when you play Miami, UF, or FSU in a series players want to come to your school and get a crack at those teams that passed them over.

Oh yeah.  Just like or defense kicked FSU b_tt last year.

Thanks a lot for the update on Holtz's speech.  When our members are able to report on things like this it makes the board more interesting and gives us all additional insight outside of official releases.
