About This Club

This is the club for the foodies. Whether you prefer to be the master of the tailgate grill, know a local hotspot that does game day the right way, or have an inside tip to the best stadium food share and discuss your favorite munchies to have on game day.
  1. What's new in this club
  2. Our group is doing fajitas and other Tex Mex stuff. We are going to be like Tijuana Flats, only different.
  3. Wisconsin student coming down for the game. Y'all makin any special Wisconsin stuff for the tailgate? I ask because when I go to tailgates up in Madison we theme our tailgate food around the other team. BTW, I'll be coming down with creampuffs, fish fry, cheese curds, cheese, more cheese, beer cheese soup, more cheese, bratwursts, and some good wisconsin beer.
  4. First game of the season is always blocked off for us to bring our sons to. They are 8 and 10 years old so getting too interesting on the menu is a death sentence. Burgers and chips for us on this trip.
  5. Chicken Wings makes a lot of sense. You could also go with Western NC BBQ. I found this from Wiki Western North Carolina barbecue is made from only the pork shoulder, which is mainly dark meat, and uses a vinegar-based sauce that includes the addition of varying amounts of tomato. Western North Carolina barbecue is also known as Lexington barbecue,
  6. So I like to eat and drink things that come from the city or state that the team we are playing that week comes from. So for Elon I'm thinking BBQ Chicken wings...waka.....im open to more ideas if anybody has any. First game of the season, a typical cupcake (I was also thinking cupcakes but i figured the football Gods may not appreciate the hubris), don't really want to go all out, the all outs I save for later games. Thoughts?
  7. Maybe to much work for a tailgate but I think this would be fantastic for a watch party.
  8. My wife does something similar with bacon. She cuts it into squares, sprinkles brown sugar and a little cayenne on them and then bakes them. We call it pig crack.
  9. I love brats. I par-boil mine in beer with sliced onions. Then I grill them. After they come off the grill they go back into the beer onion mix until served with some of the onions.
  10. I will usually take the Lil. Smokies and wrap it in bacon. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of them and toss them in the oven prior to leaving for the game. Then I will heat them up on the grill
  11. On an easy day I will make Johnsonville Brat Burgers. I also like traditional burgers and dogs. Our wives come to a game or two a year and at those games I will grill Steak, Corn and potatoes. I will put butter and Parmesan on the corn. I might branch out this year but while I like grilling at tailgates I also don't want to spend the entire time in front of the grill.....
  12. Oh, I'd try it if offered. My philosophy is to try just about anything if I'm not paying for it. If I have to pay for something, I'm a little more selective.
  13. It was an appetizer somewhere. I don't remember where.
  14. Yeah, i'm not sure if I would chose to make it . But I would give it a try in it was offered to me.
  15. Now that is interesting. I don't think I have ever heard of that. Where did you pick that up?
  16. Going with the bacon wrapped theme: Grilled bacon wrapped, goat cheese, stuffed dates
  17. I had a friend make these at a random get together recently. They are INCREDIBLE, If you have a grill going you should give these a try.
