And this is why we don't have a dog. Had to leave the game after 10 innings to let our daughter's dog out (we're dogsitting this weekend). Great game to watch.

Had a long post that didn't post so will try again.

There was one play that was just spectacular.  Houston had a runner on 3rd and the batter put down a suicide/safety squeeze.  Pretty decent bunt but Herget charged and scooped the ball with his glove to Borders who blocked the plate and got the runner.

Both starting pitchers were spectacular.  Think I heard on that crappy radio station on the way home that they had 24 strikeouts between them.  Also believe I heard (we mostly lost the signal as soon as we turned onto 75 North) that we threw out a runner at the plate in the top of the 11th (maybe by Merrill from 2nd base?).

Maglich struggled mightily out in RF tonight with an error (that led to Houston's only run - unearned) and a miss on a makeable catch near the wall.  But he made up for it with a single in the 11th that loaded the bases leading to Putnam's GW single.

Another observation.  Believe it was in the top of the 8th, Herget pitching and in a bit of trouble. Think there were 2 outs and don't know how many pitches he had made to that point but he reached back and threw a 93 mph fastball - the only time I saw that he hit that.  The scouts all seemed to jot something down in their notebooks after that pitch.

All in all a beautiful night at our great stadium.  Heard some sad news though for Bulls Club members.  Nucc told us he is leaving after 15 years. His decision.  Tonight was his last official event at USF.  He ran football operations for Leavitt and Holtz and after Tags canned him USF kept him on running the Touchdown Club and working with the Bulls Club.  Got to see his wonderful wife just before we left and wished her good luck as well. He will be the AD at Admiral Farragut in Pinellas County.

Thank you cophbulls for the tickets!!!

Sad fact: I attended practically every game when I worked and attended USF.

This was my FIRST game at the new stadium.  I have yet to attend softball and soccer at the new stadiums, but attended them very regularly at the old venues.

Great game... and yes CousinRicky... that was a great play.

But that last Houston pitcher... how agonizingly slow.  Especially being in extra innings.

But I figure its on purpose to throw off the timing of batters... but it didn't work this time!

Loved the new digs!

Can't remember ever having this many walk-offs for the local teams in a 24 hour span  ...

Congrats BaseBulls!

Men play today at 4:00 on CBSSN, will have to stop working out back to sit down and watch, hope I don't jinx 'em!

We really need to take this series.

BTW, ladies play a doubleheader today, Memphis comes to town, first pitch at 1PM. If you're going to the baseball game, stop in and watch the ladies play too!

And here we go!

Mullholland gets smacked for a home run on the very first pitch.

Ouch.
