We have good backs and fullbacks. And now we have two athletic QBs. So why not play to our strength?

Spring practice has the base plays in them.  It is the most basic of offenses.  I would think moving to the read option will allow you to run plays much like the wishbone.  The read is off the tailback inside and if the QB pulls it, I'm sure there are plays where either the slot or even another back are in the game and mimic the wishbone action in terms of the option, not the formation.   I say that because I've seen Auburn and other schools use that same type of option.

So, we can't consistently be disciplined and execute the two offenses we've ran so far so we should move to an offense that is completely based on discipline and responsibility.  Seems legit.

Ironically, I was typing almost the exact same thing I said in that post about having perfect personnel for it before clicking the link.

I still think we do. And I honestly hate that style of play, but wish we would use it at least at times.

We need some setup like this because when we telegraph "run" or "pass," we just don't have the percentages on our side.

And if we get to 3rd and 10+, we are not doing to do well.

To me FSU would be a perfect opponent to mix some of this in against. They're going to have a lot of new faces and defending this offense requires discipline in assignments. If we'd never shown this prior, and are able to execute, we could really catch them napping.

I'd like to see more of the pistol myself. Utilizes a mobile QB and gives them space to help the offensive line. Plus there's a lot of pistol looks with multiple backs where we could include Swanson for various looks (blocking, running, catching) or even Tice with Mack.

Would also allow us to run some option looks. triple, even.
