not good

Nope. COA might be on the Hot Seat going into his 3rd season because next season certainly isn't looking near as promising w/o Montero. The 2015 class is average at best now without an offensive skill player among the group unless 6ft SG McMurray is much better then expected on the D1 level. It's going to be very interesting what kind of spring class this now desperate staff can put together. Need guys that can put points on the board. We have hustle guys and rebounders in Sanchez and Da Silva we need offensive skilled guys badly for next season.

I know that J McMurray started the season scoring a lot of points. Later on he sustained some kind of an injury, and was not playing. I'm not sure of his current playing status.

There was this tweet back in January:

McDonald's All-American Game nominees: Highland Park/Sunrise Christian -Jahmal McMurray

Being a nominee for the McDonald's All American game doesn't mean all that much considering over 800 HS players were nominated. Congrats to McMurray for being 1 of the 800+.

Like I have been saying I really hope the little dude can ball as a freshman because as of right now he's the only player that Coach O has coming in that is considered an offensive player. The roster was so bad is just presented nothing to build on for the future.

I found out he averaged 21 points a game and outscored his teammates who are going to major basketball schools.

I also learned that we will be signing 3 additional players in April. I believe two are from JUCO and one a 5th year player. I don;t have any more detailed info.

As for Montero, unless somethimg unexpected happens, he WILL be here the following year.

If true, will be interesting to see how they make room for them ...

What positions? We could use some depth in the frontcourt.

2 Juco and a 5th year player? I know we offered two guards but hadn't heard of interest back. I've scoured the Internet to no avail on that count. Also, a 5th year player? Interested to see how that would fit. I know the two kids we know about are 6'7- 6'8 and will probably play in an athletic 4 capacity. More size wouldn't hurt, but consistent shooters would be more valuable at this stage I think

I asked if we were bringing in another big guy and was told yes.The conversation was during the WBB game last night, so I didn't press for more details. We will find out soon enough. We could have brought in some younger players, but we need some older guys with experience.

In a meet and greet with a coach a few weeks ago, some questions were asked about recruiting.

He mentioned they were aggressively looking at the JuCo/transfer market, including 5th year players.

As for room, he said don't pay attention to what recruiting site say about how many positions are availble.

While they are student-athletes... MBB is there to compete and win.

If players aren't contributing/competing, they wont be there next season.

Now I understand why Texas A & M was mentioned. This guy supposedly is a better scorer/shooter than Canty [Marshall transfer] who previously decommitted from USF and signed with Auburn:

One down two to go:

JUCO STANDOUT COMMITS TO USF

Evan Daniels

Director of Recruiting

This story was originally published on ScoutHoops.com.

USF's 2015 recruiting class got a little bigger on Sunday. The Bulls' fifth pledge is a scorer from the Junior College ranks.

Orlando Antigua added Junior College scorer Shawn Smith to his 2015 class.

Smith, who started his college career at Texas A&M, committed to South Florida early Sunday morning, a source told Scout.

During his sophomore season at Lee College, Smith averaged 15.3 points a game and shot 39.8-percent form three (45-for-1130.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Smith was regarded as the No. 29 shooting guard when he came out of high school in 2011.

Hopefully its the other guy Vega mentioned on the thread I started on today's commitment. Not sure about the 5th year guy..wonder who it could be and what spot.

Good work Mama! Gonna be a whole new squad next year basically.

So who will likely be gone after this season? We know Corey Allen for sure, but what about the others?

Cousins? Clayton? Collins? Dinero? Perry?

Also what about walk ons Bodway and David?

BTW, while looking at the roster I noticed a new player Tre' Bryant is added to the roster as a walk on, wasn't sure if that was already announced news. It says:

Was added to the roster on March 10, 2015 as a walk-on… Served as a practice player on the women’s basketball team this season.
