It wasn't the fault of CoachOA or Montero, for WCC shutting down its BB program in the middle of the season, because of the academic fraud scandal. So, Montero couldn't play, but he didn't lose a year of eligibility. If he had come here right away without playing competitively, he probably wouldn't have been in the best basketball shape and it would have taken considerably more playing time here to get up to speed. At least when he comes here the following year, he should be more ready for the challenge. From his twitter page, he says he is committed to USF and I expect that he will be here in the future.

Would this free up a scholarship for 2015 and his would count for 2016 or would he count toward 2015

not good

Nope. COA might be on the Hot Seat going into his 3rd season because next season certainly isn't looking near as promising w/o Montero. The 2015 class is average at best now without an offensive skill player among the group unless 6ft SG McMurray is much better then expected on the D1 level. It's going to be very interesting what kind of spring class this now desperate staff can put together. Need guys that can put points on the board. We have hustle guys and rebounders in Sanchez and Da Silva we need offensive skilled guys badly for next season.

Peters counts, right?  He's pretty good, offensively, no?

If Peters can get into the paint and get open looks for his teammates (much like AC when he is occasionally on his game) consistently, than he is already an upgrade. We just need others to execute.

From what little I've read, he excels on the break.

It's not that easy to find the current stats for all of the incoming players. From the relatively little information that I have been able to glean, it seems that they are all doing better offensively than expected. So, I have more hope that they will be able to add some points immediately.

I know that J McMurray started the season scoring a lot of points. Later on he sustained some kind of an injury, and was not playing. I'm not sure of his current playing status.

There was this tweet back in January:

Peters, McMurray, Tulio, and Luis Santo's are all good enough to get minutes next year imo.

I'm not that worried, a guard rotation of AC, Holston, Peters, Dinero, and McMurray would allow are guys to run.

Then have guys like Ziegler, Morrilo and Tulio in the small forward position.

Then with Guerrero, Perry (hopefully), and Santos holding down the paint we should be good enough to not worry about Cousins or Clayton ever seeing the floor.

AC plays too slow at point, hopefully ome of the above will take the position from him.
