The only point I was making was that Anderson didn't **** on the kid like other coaches have done. He was honest and, by all accounts I've read, didn't pull the scholarship. He just told Pensyl he wasn't a good fit and he'd find more success elsewhere.

It would be interesting to see what accounts you read where Andersen gave him the option of staying committed. Here's an earlier article from the same source WWMJD posted his from, http://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2014/12/beau_hott_oregon_state_beavers.html  All indications are that if Pensyl had the choice, he would have stayed committed to OSU ...

"My coach told me to make sure that I commit to a school and not the staff â€“ pick somewhere that will make you happy. I really fell in love with the school and I know other recruits did too," he explained. "I just made sure to talk to them and made sure they thought about the reasons they committed to Oregon State â€“ that it wasn't just the coaches that were there, but the school they were going to."

...

The 6-foot-6, 205-pound Florida product is far from de-committing and said he'd stick with the Beavers even if Andersen brings in another quarterback, but he's hoping to hear where he stands soon.

So scenario A is: Pensyl commits to OSU and Riley leaves. Anderson comes on board in December, informs Pensyl he's not the QB for the system. Pensyl hears this and watches his new coach take a commitment from another QB in January. The new kid enrolls early and is at OSU for the entire month leading up to signing day. Anderson at no point tells Pensyl his scholarship has been pulled. Then, with 2 days to go before signing day, yanks it out from under him. Pensyl and his HS coach are incredibly angry, but extremely classy people, and refuse to publicly say this event happened, even when quoted for an article about coaches who screw kids over. Instead, Pensyl goes with an ambiguous statement about no longer being committed. Scenario B has more or less the same chain of events up until the beginning of February, except in this one, you assume a high school coach and teenager would be completely honest about the wrongs committed and have no problem sharing the move Anderson pulled at the last minute if he did indeed pull the scholarship. Instead. you assume that since they won't say it, it didn't happen and Pensyl decided a few days before signing day, "You know, the new coach was pretty honest about me not ever seeing the field at OSU and he signed another QB that is already enrolled at the school and will have the luxury of Spring practice in the new system. A system he is the first choice for. Maybe I should think about finding a new college to play for, even if it's late in the process."

There are two schools we can rule out, Oregon State and USF.
