Lately, I've been thinking we might not have the QB of the future on our roster. I started bouncing around the recruiting sites, just peeking at the names we're chasing, and 24/7 says we're the front runner for him again this year. Anyone know if that's legit or just lazy reporting based on last year? I'm actually curious about this and not looking for a repeat of the last Litton thread. We all know the baggage he carries.

24/7 shows he's part of 2015 class and is committed to Marshall. Thankfully, there haven't been any threads about the what-if scenarios with him this season. I actually forgot about him.

So it's just lazy reporting. He's listed as a favorite on ours.

In other "former QB commit" news, a true freshman was named the starter at Wake Forest over Tyler Cameron and others.

Total blast from the past. Cameron was one of Holtz's first QB wiffs. He had to go after Gunsby, as a result of Cameron going to the Demon Deacons, if I recall.

What were his other whiffs?

I think in Skippys first year it was Brion Carnes, then the next year it was Tyler Cameron and the following year Ashianti. So it was Jamius Gunsby and Brion Carnes not Tyler Cameron.

Carnes as a whiff might be a bit strong for a kid who only threw 2 passes in his entire career, not to mention Skip pulled the scholarship from him leading to having to take Gunsby late in the cycle. Cameron was a whiff, we could certainly use the depth right now, though Wake doesn't him to be too high on him. The AW comment just allows us to play the always fun game of, "Make **** Up About Skip Since No One Could Possibly Defend Him." A TBP favorite.

Nothing Skip did here deserves to be defended.  The best thing he did was get fired.
