Thank God.

Coach Pitino act like he thought he had graduated to. When Pitino left UK he was on track to graduate he said. He had no idea. So he might have been lying to Pitino to. Pitino and the University weren't going to do a background check on him I guarantee because Ptino has know the kid all of his life and he is comfortable with him. You know Jurich was thinking the same thing. So the dude was lying to Pitino to about graduating I'm thinking.

I get that. So on to the next one. However I don't think a college degree is necessary to coach basketball. I can agree with this in its entirety. Have to disagree with the neccesity of the degree. It is a college and basketball is an extracurricular activity while one is attending college to earn a degree. If a coach has never earned a degree why would he/she encourage their athletes to finish theirs? Barely any of our players make it to the NBA so their degree should be the most important goal while attending USF. It is that same ideology of a business first prinicipal that hurts the kids. They mentors/Role models first. I get your logic but have to kindly disagree.

If he lied about graduating from UK on his resume, then that's that.

I get that a degree isn't going to make you a successful coach but what message would it send if an institution that sells a product(degrees) hires someone that doesn't have one. I'm not surprised that this guy was a liar considering he learned from the king of scumbags in Rick Pitino
