Mr. Walters appears to be attached to early commit Mizzou, but some thought he might hold out for an FSU offer, That threat ended tonite with the flip of Dalvin Cook from UF to FSU. Our kind of guy. Quiet and powerful. Cann mizzou hold off the the onslaught. He is a Manatee back. Willie and Woodie will work this until the phone lines close.

Walters is an under appreciated back imo. Would love to get him.

That said the difference with Trevon and other Manatee kids is that Trevon is not from here. He is from Alabama I believe and moved here something like two years ago or so. State and time frame may vary with how strong that memory is as a disclaimer.

Point being he does not to my knowledge have the usual family ties to the area that can be a help.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri running back Trevon Walters has been dismissed from the team after he was accused of stealing and arrested.

Coach Barry Odom announced the dismissal Monday, saying the 21-year-old redshirt sophomore had violated team rules. The dismissal comes after he was suspended indefinitely following his arrest Friday in Columbia on suspicion of stealing and fraudulently using a credit or debit card. Boone County Sheriff's Department records show Walters was booked into the county jail and later released on $5,500 bail.

No charges have been filed against the Bradenton, Florida, native. He doesn't have a listed phone number.

 

Walters never played a game for Missouri. He redshirted in 2014 and missed the 2015 season because of an injury.

Do we really want to deal with the off the field stuff with this kid when we already have depth at RB? I personally think Mack will stay for his senior year to raise his stock and because the running backs this class are very good. But even if he does leave, I don't think the trouble he may bring would be worth it, unless if he either is extremely good or didn't commit the crime

Question - If he transfers somewhere now, he would have to sit out for the year, correct? Would he be classified a redshirt Junior then or would he still be a redshirt sophomore like Woulard. If so, it looks like he would be a 22 year old sophomore at that point. 

2014/2015 - Redshirt

2015/2016 - DNP Injury

2016/2017 - Transfer

He would be a redshirt junior but he could apply for the medical redshirt to get the 6th year after his senior year.

Btw I think if we take this guy it would turn into even a larger recruiting win in the future in Manatee.  The coaches will see which coaches give their kids the 2nd chances that some of them may need.
