Tampa Catholic two-sport star Chivarsky Corbett, a 6-foot-5 sophomore quarterback/wing player, has been offered a basketball scholarship by USF, Crusaders coach Don Dziagwa announced.

Dziagwa said Bulls coach Stan Heath contacted him Sunday evening with the offer.

No it's not if you are serious about building a title contender. Only a few schools can wait to the last minute to offer kids and have a good chance at landing them.

We're talking of him signing, hopefully, in November 2013, correct? .... That's only 16 months. It sounds like a long time until you think of it that way.

Vega said "title contender" - isn't that a bannable offense?!?!?!

Just talked with my HS coach who's playing TC in a few weeks and mentioned this guys name. He said he's a USF commit.

Did a little research, looks like he's not highly ranked yet but he dropped 50 a couple of weeks ago. I'll be going I see them play when they play Seminole though.

Here's a thread. Didn't dig, but merge if you wish.

He just scored 26 last night in a losing effort against 13-1 Jesuit. Sounds like a good prospect.

Before anyone asks, he cannot walk on to the football team. If he plays football, he would lose his basketball scholarship.

Saw him play tonight. Athletic kid, definitely affected shots jn the paint due to his size. Moved very well without the ball and was pretty solid around the basket. Not a smooth shooter but had a decent shot.

From this game, I would've said he's not a BE player. But I do see where he comes from considering he's averaging nearly 30 ppg

This kid is transferring from Delaware this season and Russ Woods is inclined to report that we are in the recruiting process. I haven't seen much solid but I wanted to bump this until I do.

He almost transferred last season but his current coach got him to reconsider. He was coming off a torn ACL and averaged 18.5 minutes a game although his time dropped as the season progressed. His former coach does nothing but boast of his attitude and ethic.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
