I don't know anything about the Black Keys, but Foo Fighters and Sublime were at their peak in the 1990's and early 2000s. Is that still considered this generation? I'll bet not a lot of high school kids today would know who Sublime is.

Chad Vangaalen

The Decemberists

Tame Impala

The Hold Steady

The Killers

The National

White Denim

Deerhunter

There's a **** load more too but these are just some that I think would be more palatable to this boards middle aged white male musical palate. Radio music has sucked for decades.

Rock music is on life support. When you have groups from the mid 80's (The Red Hot Chili Peppers) and the 90's (The Foo Fighters), both of whom I love, winning grammys in 2010's, there's a lack of innovation. Indie artist Bon Iver just won this past year.

Deservedly so he put out a great album. Also there is a ton of great rock music out there you just have to look around. The radio has been about disposable interchangeable bands for decades......
