In a way, I don't wnat anyone to commit to us, because then I'd be worried they'd de-commit. It's better for my mental health if they stay uncommitted and I can just hope they beome Bulls! LOL

The reality is that we will probably lose a few and gain a few throughout the process, just like this year. That seems to be the nature of what is happening nowadays in recruiting. Kids are giving verbals earlier to secure themselves a spot. Because of that, some stick and some don't.

The Rivals top 100 players for 2013 was released today.

We have offered a number of them.

CB V Hargreaves III is #10. An early verbal by him to USF could sway other top players, especially local ones, to join him.

For example, DB L McQuay III #32 currently ranks us "High". Perhaps, he would then jump on board and solidify the class.

Tampa Hillsborough DE Jordan Sherit is #76.

Another local player who we offered is RB R Green #90.

There are others. You can check the list.

Orlando Sentinel 2013 Florida Top 100

14 of those players have already given a verbal.

So, the sooner we started getting one of them, the better.

From Greg's chat today:

12:49 [Comment From NCentonzeNCentonze: ]

This weekend is a big weekend for the 2013 recruiting class. Any names we should be looking out for that should be the top of next year's class?

Thursday February 9, 2012 12:49 NCentonze

12:50 This is easily the biggest junior day I've seen USF have -- last night, the count I had was about 90 kids coming in, including half (46) that had scholarship offers from the Bulls. I can remember a year or two back when there were much fewer, so this is a big weekend to jumpstart the 2013 class and could result in the first commitments for next year.

Thursday February 9, 2012 12:50

12:52 Biggest name might be RB Kelvin Taylor, who is the son of former Gators and Jaguars RB Fred Taylor. Great, great runner, and certainly a long shot for USF, but it's encouraging they can get him on campus. Fred, you might remember, had Carl Franks as his position coach at UF, so there's a solid connection there. I think Kelvin's going to be an elite national recruit, so it's no shame if USF can't stay in the picture for him.

12:53 USF has a bunch of QBs coming in and a fair amount of offers out -- they'll take two QBs in this class, and I'd think you could see one commit early, just to make sure USF doesn't get shut out as the Bulls did when Tyler Cameron flipped to Wake Forest in December.

Wow. Fred Taylor's kid. Not getting my hopes up, but this would be a tremendous get!
