Ocala tackle Henderson is USF's 3rd commitment

USF's 2012 recruiting efforts have picked up steam quickly, as Reno Henderson, an offensive tackle from Ocala Vanguard, committed to the Bulls on Saturday night, USF's third commitment in the past week.

Henderson, 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, earned first-team all-state honors as a sophomore at Vanguard and will play left tackle this fall. He said USF was his first scholarship offer, though he was being recruited by other top state schools like Florida State, Florida and Miami.

"They did a great job recruiting me -- every time I go down there, I like it more," said Henderson, on USF's campus this weekend for a 7-on-7 tournament.

Henderson is athletic enough to play on Vanguard's varsity basketball team, and he cites his footwork among his strengths. "He's been our best lineman the last two years," said Vanguard coach Alex Castaneda. "He's been an outstanding player, and now we're just working on getting some weight on him."

Henderson was recruited to USF by receivers coach Phil McGeoghan, who took his commitment Saturday night. Castaneda said USF is also recruiting Vanguard defensive end Najee Jamerson, who is skinny at 6-3, 190 pounds, but had 15 sacks as a junior.

Henderson is the third commitment toward USF's 2012 class, joining safety Rayshawn Jenkins of St. Petersburg Admiral Farragut and defensive end Ryan Brown of Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw.

Skinny....?!? That is putting it mildly.....a 190 lb DE is downright anorexic. Hope he can put on some meat.
