Must resist to speculate....

I think that you'll speculate within the next hour or so. :) Resistance is futile.

I would like to see TCU added to the BE but I suspect we would also have to offer to at least one or two other Texas schools (Houston or SMU) for such a deal to be done.

Why would we need to add those schools?

If anything, TCU will look to go into the Big 12 if they want to expand again.

smart move on byu's part. why be forced to schedule a bunch of crappy conference teams just for a low tv and bowl payout. the majority of that conference is dead weight.

Well it is obvious the Big East was willing to expand when it appeared that Mizzou, Kansas, ISU and KSU were available. The question is....even if TCU wanted to bolt, would we really make room for them?

They could be a 9th football school and then have a 17 team basketball conference....or you could explore that FedEx offer and see if any money comes with Memphis.

Scheduling 4 WAC teams doesn't help them

If you going to add 1 program, then TCU is your best option. I didn't they they'd ever really be available, but this might be the best shot to get them.

Well, we need to add SOMEONE soon or the BE is bye-bye. TCU would add quality to the BE unlike many of the alternatives. Houston is also rising but it remains to be seen if they can keep it up after their QB departs.

better than scheduling all the mountain west teams.

they can play a national schedule now. control their own bowls and tv.

Boise is the only good team in the WAC and they're going to the Mountain West, so there is no way that scheduling 4 WAC is better.

They may be biting off more than they want with their own tv deal. They don't carry anywhere near the appeal, or audience, of Notre Dame.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
