This series has been a bit like beating up on your younger brother.  It was never really fair, and as you mature you have to stop eventually.  Never-the-less, we will miss it just a little.

Oh my god!! this is so true, that it can't even be used as bulletin board material for UCF. It would just make them sad, not pumped up.  >:D

“UCF has missed on a great opportunityâ€

Those aren’t my words, that’s from University of South Florida running backs coach Carl Franks. Count Franks among those who don’t believe the USF-UCF series should continue. The complete story is in Saturday’s Tampa Tribune, but here’s a few excerpts from Franks, who also is USF’s recruiting coordinator.

“UCF has been around a lot longer than we have,†Franks said. “They’ve had a football program a lot longer than we have. All of sudden we come in and all of sudden we’re the bad guy? It seems UCF has missed on a great opportunity along the way and now wants to kind of attach to us.

“It’s really quite humorous to me the way this has flipped. We’re trying to build a rivalry with Miami. Maybe they should get one with FIU or FAU? I don’t know.â€

UCF started football in 1979, the Bulls in 1997. Despite an 18-year head start, the Knights have been passed by the Bulls.

“I could go on and on why it’s flipped — different conferences, the BCS,†Franks said. “I want to do what’s best for our program.â€

Do you believe in miracles?: Cue the Al Michaels’ voiceover: USF sophomore RB Mike Ford made the trip to Orlando Friday night.

USF coach Jim Leavitt said after Thursday’s practice that it would be a “minor miracle†not only for Ford to play Saturday, but be brought on the trip. Well, at least, Ford will be in the stadium. His status remains “questionable.â€

Based on Moise Plancher’s performance last week and playing at UCF, where his cousin, Ereck Plancher, was a wide receiver and died at the age of 19 on March 18, I wouldn’t be surprised if Moise Plancher gets his second career start.

ftu/ou/co should have been a power  but it will never be

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
