First preseason game.  I think he'll be fine.  Who else is in that backfield?

The Lions are doomed, at least no one picked him up in the 0th round as the UCF fans had predicted...

Waiting for Gridiron God to come in here and slob up Kevin Smith and anoint him as the second coming.

The Lion's o-line didn't look so good, either...could be a tough year for the Lion's running game no matter who's in the backfield.  But given..he only played a qtr or so...so he'd be on track for 100 yds!!  ;D

Wasn't he on track for HUGE yards against USF last year. Or was that just extremely over obsessive fan hype?

2.8 ypc

Exactly.  Now as long as the Lions give him 35+ carries a game like O'Leary did, he'll break 100 yards a game easy.

Besides, those 560 carries a year won't affect the health and durability of a historical type player and a "legend" like Smith... make it happen Detroit!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

    Jim Leavitt
