and then following that, they mentioned that, in the last 45 years, the yanks have not won the WS during a year that a Republican was in office.

if the curse can be used as an arguement, then so can that.

Sox are leading the wild card race

the Sox lead the season series with the Yankees 8-5

Neither the sox or the yankmes have won in this century

in the last 45 years, the yanks have not won the WS during a year that a Republican was in office

Last 2 champs have been wild card teams

No wonder Red Sox fans are so good at trivia. It's the only thing they can use to validate the superiority of their team.

8 ) B

7) E

6) R

5) U

4) T

3) H

2) Pedro's gerry curl

1) It is much more fun to watch all the Red Sox fans cry all the **** time than for them to win anything and the baseball gods have taken note for quite a while so far

Welcome back!

Thats pretty funny stuff... considering it wasn't a red sox fan that made it... ESPN (Kruk & co) made it, and they diss the sox whenever they can about the curse.

The curse(s) only exists to feable minded individuals and the media.  Use it all you want to try and get under Sox fans skin, but its useless... curses don't exist... yankess have just been the better team for a long long time.   :P

Three reasons why the BoSox and Yanks need not worry about the Series:

1) Mulder

2) Hudson

3) Zito

Not to mention Harden. Unless either of the two "evil empires" prys the Big Unit from Arizona, A's going to the World Series

any other year I would have agrred about the A's, but Zito and Harden are not doing anything special this year and it hasnt worked for them in the past when all the pitchers were doing good.

Finally, a good argument...  ;)

Their bullpen isn't very good, although they have Dotel now, which is better than they started with this year.

I don't think the yanks or sox are getting Johnson, only Anaheim has the prospects and Johnson really doesn't want to go there, and since he has a no trade clause, its up to the diamondbacks to convince him to go there, or him to convince the diamondbacks to take the yanks deal.

Only thing the yanks can do is offer a but load of AA players that aren't mlb ready, or current starters like Posada, Contreras, etc, which would be a pretty bad move and of course take some cash off the books for Arizona... which their GM said they want good MLB ready prospects... so if it happens, Steinbrenner will have to pay through the nose.

I'm not even going to bother thinking the Sox still have a chance in that... i'd rather go after Beltran to fill the void left by Nixon's reinjuring of his quad.

Zito has been off, but he's traditionally a good pitcher late in the year... as for harden... i have no clue-we beat him like a rented mule, Hudson is the real deal, as is Mulder.

FWIW, El Duque just left the Yankees game with a leg injury after 2 innings.
