Maybe on-campus stadium won’t resolve USF’s attendance woes

I still did not see anyone with a clicker or tickets distributed.  So how was attendance took? Did someone for the Times go around and count every person they thought counted as an attendee?

Meanwhile my wife was impressed with the crowd and energy.

It’s a fair question...how did they get an accurate attendance figure without tickets or turnstiles?

Maybe the article explains it; I wouldn’t know because I’m not giving Joey’s bizarre fetish another click.

Guesstimate.

Thats how most attendance is kept at the college level.

To answer somebody's question there weren't many students at all.  I even commented to some people I was with.  Disappointing to say the least

If only the game was played on campus.

Believe it or not but the Rowdies do have some die hard fans in Tampa and St Pete. Some people just love soccer.

Speaking of Akron, this is a good attendance article and you get to hear a lot of the same complaints/arguments our fanbase has.

https://www.ohio.com/akron/news/top-stories-news/university-of-akron-football-attendance-lowest-in-nation

  • weekday games, great for TV and bad for fans
  • hosting your rival
  • kids today
  • too many other things to do
  • making more of an effort to get the community engaged

It's got it all.

This is life outside of the P5. Probably also life for a handful of P5 programs too but that's kept secret.

They average 5-6K per game.  Great family atmosphere, relatively inexpensive and the sport is widely played among kids.
