He is more likely to work deep into games. Three of SM's last four games have not been very good, while PS hasn't allowed more 3 ERs since UNC. There's no reason to switch the nights that each guy starts. SM has thrown fine the previous 2 Friday nights, he did not throw well last night. Even with that, he has 7 quality starts in 9 starts. Agree...at this point you may not be able to do it. Hope he SM gets better and settles down. I know it doesn’t really matter who goes Friday or Saturday but PS’s ability to deep into games sets our bullpen up better for Saturday and Sunday.
