I guess there can be a myriad of reasons for the voting. I always thought it was basically for agreeing/disagreeing with  a post's sentiments enough to express that without actually posting ...

The way it’s set up on here that can kind of make sense. The way it originally worked on the internet comments got moved up or down based on rating. People would want more pertinent information at the top ,whether it was what they necessarily agreed with or not, and things off topic to get burried. As the country has moved alway from being able to have any discourse or even be exposed to contrarian ideas it became more common to try to bury any idea that upset your sensitivities.

Publix lost a spot with me when they 86'ed their presses and stopped making delicious honey butter smothered pressed Cubans. And they seem to have slowed wayyy down on service, the one up here off 54 rarely even has 2 people working the sub counter during peak times. And their bread doesn't seem to stay as soft or fresh as it used to.

I don't get the Subway hate, some of their stuff sucks, but it's not terrible. Jimmy Johns is the same thing, kinda bland but fast - I just can't keep all the insides from spilling out the back half the time though.

Jersey Mike's is where it's at for me. Firehouse and Quiznos are cool (if you can still find a Quiznos), but some of the Firehouse steamed meats don't agree with me for some reason. But that brisket sub is good enough it took me a few times to realize it was an automatic visit to the men's room a few hours later, :70_poop:

Back on topic, at the very least, I'd kill to have a Publix on campus because being able to walk to get groceries and back to the dorm would've saved me a heck of a lot of money and time back in the day.

I had thought they'd gone out of business, so I looked. Still quite a few stores open, but only two in Florida. One at Eglin and the other at UWF.

That's essentially what the Mad Cow is for - to avoid people having their sensibilities snickered. It's pretty much tamed down though.

... and not saying inconvenient truths like Publix subs aren’t that great ...

Your truth is not my truth, so how can it be truth at all?

Until you got a certain poster with his animal screenname who started downvoting any post opposite his side of the aisle to the extreme, and single-handedly changed smazza's reputation points into the green forever.

I’ve seen the Platonic form of a sub in the ether and it doesn’t look like a Publix sub, and deep in your heart you know that I am right.

Now, now. Remember when you point at people, three fingers are pointing back at you (insert sanctimonious smiley)

(I NEVER understood why this was a thing, lol)

In the ether, huh? Did it look like this?

Deep in my heart, I know that what you think is a meatball sub is actually a crap sandwich.  :)

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
