Great deal when you consider the financials.  2019 will be a great season for us, with a trip to GT and home games with Wisconsin and BYU.

Go Bulls!

So the takeaway is: We are still playing UMASS.

When usf was in the real p6 they could command 1-1 with the occasional upset special pay day games

usf is now in the G5 and should use the opportunity to net $1m plus get quality names on the schedule.

This kills me. Prior to this deal, our only unbalanced contract was a 2 for 1 with Texas. If we can't get a 1 for 1 with Louisville, who will sign one with us?

Fear of losing my friend. Teams learned that the hard way a decade ago.

We're two coaches and a decade removed from being a giant killer. I'd say the more accurate reason is because a win over us does little in the current CFP system. If you're a middle of the pack P5 team, why risk the L? If you're a legit P5 team, a W over us doesn't exactly vault you into the top 4.

I mentioned that in  my green goggle post. Some people hate to root for other teams, but If the football God decide to bless us, all of the teams I put in bold  hopefully will have a great 2018, and be ranked in 2019.  That is 6 teams in the top 25 we can possibly play. Factor in the other teams on our schedule at least having a record above .500 and we should have the strength of schedule  good enough to crash the playoffs.  In addition to having Kean or Oladukan in their 2nd year as a starter....and like you said if they can go undefeated of course lol

2019 -

OOC - GT, WISC, BYU, CMU

Con games -

* American home games: Cincinnati, Memphis, SMU, Temple

* American road games: UCF, UConn, East Carolina, Navy

Make the road game UCONN or ECU instead of UCF in bold and we are all good.

Almost died in Louisville but it was a blast. I think I may make another trip there.

I'm just wondering why we've been having such a hard time getting quality opponents over all. It's just baffling to me. We're in the Sunshine State, who doesn't want a trip to the beach during the winter months.

These trips aren't vacations. Players get off the plane, onto buses, to the hotel (with a quick stop at stadium to see the place), to the stadium on game day and then back on buses to the plane.  In between they'll be playing a football game in 90 degree heat.  Not quite my idea of a vacation.

On paper, 2019 looks like the best OOC slate

QB will (should) have a year under his belt, could be a fun year.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
