And Peyton Banks, this team's best shooter, was out for this one. All things considered, this wasn't a horrendous loss. I'm pleasantly surprised to see our two freshmen getting some significant experience. Scekic continues to be a nonfactor.

Scekic took another shot at the top of the key with a ton of time on the shot clock. He's also been moving on screens that thankfully haven't been called. I don't understand why he's getting so many minutes.

It's because our front court is essential Manderson, Martin, and Scekic. We've got little depth up front. I miss Ruben Guerrero; he was turning things around last season after a bit of a sophomore slump.

In a post game interview, CBG said Nik had been doing a good job defensively so maybe that's it. Both he and Manderson are good for at least one of those "WTF are you doing??" shots in each game ...
