SI: What Was the Best Game of 2017?

Disappointed but not mad. Both teams fought for and earned every point. I hate the ending, but the game was great.

I dislike school tactics (cheap shots in advertising, etc), but the football team and Frost look respectable. I'm gonna enjoy the game vs Auburn--I'll have something to smile about either way, but the smile might include a chuckle if Auburn takes it.

The silver lining is this loss seems to have raised our national awareness more than a lot of the big wins. Rivalries are a big part of college football. 

Having said that it still sucks.

Ya’ll say what you want but this is high praise for the P6. This should be worn like a banner if I’m Harlan. Tout this during the off season - maybe a tv deal?

One of the best games I've ever seen. Course we were all disappointed at the end however that's the best I've felt coming off a loss maybe ever. People will remember that game and therefore both schools.

By the time the last bowl game has been played, no one - outside of our fan bases - will remember who won it, but they will remember it as a classic game.

It's good for us and for the league.

That said, EFF UCF!

Just to clarify, SI didn't pick it as the #1 game, 6,800 Internet voters did .... and I don't think it's a coincidence that it was the most recent of all the choices. Obviously if we had won, probably would have kept that observation to myself and would have agreed wholeheartedly but there were some other games on the list that I would have voted a better game. Exposure is still nice, though, even in a losing cause ...

FWIW, Athlon picked USF -UCF game as the best FB game of the season, JK tweeted about that last week, but I don't believe anybody posted it here.

Also, The USF-UCF game out drew on TV the CCG between UCF and Memphis.

What I think this does do is to show a P5 conference that it makes sense to take both USF and UCF as members, because of the apparent national interest in our rivalry.

That link will show the Birmingham Bowl TV rating, when it becomes available. I'm hopeful that it will do well, since it was one of the most exciting games of the bowl season, so far.

Wouldn't hold my breath on too good of ratings for the Bham bowl. Hell I was personally only able to watch the first quarter due to the day and time slot.

Rating may be great but it will be ranked as one of the better bowl games.

Just heard that Bowl viewership is up 12% for the first 20 bowls. That is some healthy growth right there...
