Now the bad news, our UA deal was when we were in the Big East, don't be shocked if the Adidas deal is for less money per year, like our TV deal, the value may have gone down. 

You are 100% correct. When football went to Nike, basketball went to adidas. Then they signed the UA athletics contract.

In my opinion this is a good thing.   Adidas>UA.  UA is struggling to perform as a company, sneakers haven’t picked up like they’d like, and kids (recruits/players) prefer Adidas to UA.  Also,

So maybe UA is the reason that our basketball program went from mediocre to absolutely terrible???

UA doesn't exactly have a ton of leverage right now. I'd hate to see us leave them. I like UA stuff more than Nike

He is right again ... just like when we may or may not have the funding yet for the ipf.

UA can match any offer. Realistically, UA has massively devlined and has had to raise theor prices to offset losses.

Adidas and Nike will continue to win the wars, not so much the battles.
