We averaged 45.8 points a game for our 11 wins.  If we would have scored that against Temple we would have won.  Florida State maybe not.

Temple scored 46 against us, Florida State 55. Any semblance of a defense would have helped.

First time I've had a real problem with the playcalling was the 2nd to last drive of game (I think it was that one) and we're throwing the ball, including a sideline pattern that even though complete, stopped the clock, as did the incomplete pass, allowing Tulane to save their to's.

This is so frustrating. Our 30+ streak is in some danger if we don't open this up a bit.

It's the longest streak ever, it is always in danger.  No team is a given to score 30 points a game.   That is why it is an impressive accomplishment.

Don't deny that.  Our defense wasn't good, period.  My point was our offense wasn't for those two games either.

Gilbert's offense is averaging more rushing yardage per game than Taggart's did.  The stats are the stats.

We are going to end up with THREE 1,000 yard rushers this year.  In one less regular season game due to hurricane.

Has that ever been done, at any level of CFB?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
