Granted that USF has had national success in just a limited number of track events. Our number of All-Americans is certainly small when compared to the bigger track programs. But, much of that has more to do with the quality of the players we can get. Just like in football, the best HS players go to UF, FSU and Miami. Of course, they can also pay salaries that we can't hope to match. I don't criticize him for deciding not to play football and only concentrate on track. Nor do I blame him for transferring to another school which is known for its track prowess. However, I don't think he needed to throw our track coaches under the bus while he's running out of here. USF, I believe, was one of the only schools to offer him a football schollie and also allowed him to run track. He should have just been thankful that we gave him that opportunity and leave it at that. Edited October 12, 2017 by Mama_Bull 1

Seems more like he wanted to play football, discovered he wasn't good enough to get regular touches (notwithstanding his speed), then decided to focus on track. When football at USF wasn't going to happen, might as well go to a school with a "bigger" track program. I don't recall seeing him play much if ever, but maybe I missed him.

No need for speed when running up the middle
