That's because he made good hires and excels at fundraising and building facilities (and getting to a Power 5 conference). No one knew he was involved with this sort of sordid affair.

But with the stuff coming out now, it certainly makes one wonder how he might have scratched the back of others to assist Louisville's rise ...

I've got a feeling that louisville is just the start of this. Inwouldbt be surprised to see some big name football programs follow real soon.

Well, he probably knew his time was coming so at least trying not to burn relationships on his way out, and he & Pitino were basically conjoined.

Agree, huge disaster with the BBall season about to start--not a good time to be a Cards MBB fan. This is wild.

I thought that at first as well, but the problem with that logic is that you're burning future relationships with potential bosses by letting them know up front you will be insubordinate.

Miami BB program also being implicated.  Coming off the whole Nevin Shapiro violations, they could be hit hard.  Couldn't happen to a nicer group of fans.

Tom Jurich is likely to lose his job too, according to ESPN.

Remember when he was virtually lionized by some on this board.

I'd still take Jurich as AD right now.
