IMO, only one thing counts when it comes to offensive efficiency and that's points  .... and I think we've been pretty efficient in that regard so far so you're wanting MORE effieciency doesn't really hold water with me.

so as long as our D can get us inside the opponents 30 to start our drives 6 times a game, we're good.

As long as our D holds the opponent to less points than us, we're good ..... All this other stuff is just message board fodder.

So you will agree that the offense is not currently playing to potential?  I think that's what most are getting at here.  The defense is obviously playing out of their minds.

It is interesting that we did pretty well under Tom Allen and now BJM and both of those guys were loud and demonstrative types.  Maybe defenses need to get fired up by a coach.

we started drives inside Temple territory 9 times last night.

we started inside their 30 yard line 6 times.

pitiful that we only scored 4 TDs

offense needs to be way more efficient regardless of the yards.

We were up big and within FG range.  My guess is we didn't want to take too many risks and give the momentum back to them.

4 times we started within their 30 when we had 20 points or fewer on the board.

You guys complaining about the offense do realize it was in the red zone that Gilbert mixed up the play calling and the player execution was dirt poor? We had 5... FIVE passes to the endzone that did not connect, 0/5... and here many fans are complaining about the lopsided play calling not having enough passes called. Aside from the terrible 4th down play call, the red zone playcalling was setting us up to score and mixing in a lot of pass attempts but the player execution was horrible through the air. The coaches need to fix this in practices.

When you're up by 20 against a really optimistic, athletic defense.... you run the ball. I don't agree with the conservative nature of the playcalling, but it wasn't bad... just really conservative.

here are the plays for 6 series that started inside their 30. We ran it on first and second down 5 of the 6 times.

26 yard line run-run-pen-pen-run-pass

6 yard line run-pass-pass-run

20 yard line run-run-run-run

22 yard line run-pen-run-pass-run-pass-pass

21 yard line run-run-pass

25 yard line run-run

16 runs

7 pass

3 penalties

5 of those passes were on 3rd down- 4 of those were obvious passing downs

3rd and 24

3rd and 6

3rd and 14

3rd and 8

3rd and 2

Play calling is so predictable.

Also when you're up by 20 against an offense that, on that particular night, wasn't scoring 20 points if we played 12 quarters, you don't need to do anything to give them cheap points.
