Scheduling a 12 game for 2017

So someone else hinted at this on Facebook earlier and I think it can be done. 

UCiF won't reschedule their game with GaTech this year, and both GaTech and USF have October 7th off for a bye week. 

We both could use a 12th game and GaTech is a better opponent than UMass (or even worse, no UMass). The ooc game would definitely increase our strength of schedule and a full schedule at that. 

I hope someone is looking at this possibility. It'd be somewhat satisfying to pick up a game that c. cancelled on.

It's been mentioned on here and the reports are that no more schedule additions would be made at this time.

I raised that possibility at the tailgate, but USF is not interested in scheduling a 12th game. I think it's because we want to keep the bye week and stay fresh for conference play.

That's probably true.  I don't think GT would increase our SOS enough to give a real push for the playoffs.  The focus has to be the CCG.

Our collective take on this appears to be "the risk isn't worth the return". We won't get enough benefit from a win to offset the potential downside of a loss.

And we wonder why it's so hard to schedule P5 teams - that's exactly what they think about us.

I only said it because GT was mentioned for this season.  Also, I don't wonder why it's so hard.

We already have 12 games. We had 13 before Irma screwed everything up and we only lost the umass game. Now we have 6 home and 6 road instead of 7 home and 6 road

We have 11 games now.  6 home, 5 away.  We never had 13.

My bad miscounted but I don't see us adding a 12 game when our 12th game could be the CCG
