That's not going to happen.  Aresco wants to separate the AAC from the other G5 conferences.  Agreeing to this would be admitting that we are the same.

You are probably right.  If AAC doesn't get the bid it shoots a big hole in that scenario.

I disagree.  We are trying to build a perennial top 25 program.  That happens by getting top 25 recruits.  We lose a ton of players this year.  Winning a NY6 bowl game on national TV will have a bigger impact on signing day than a G5 conference championship.

Either way, we can't go NY6 without a conference championship.

If you have been a USF fan for 20 years you will understand the importance of getting this first conf championship

I was at the first game!  I want to build consistency at the top.  If we win an AAC Championship and have a weak recruiting class, we will start the year out of the top 25.  Last year and this year need to be building blocks to long-term success.  In my opinion, winning a NY6 will do more for the program than an G5 Championship (a Big East Championship would have been different).

Right now our recruiting is amazing. We are top 35 in the nation. I am not worried about that with CCS. As always we want to be at a NYD bowl, but I am not going to get nuts over it if we don't get in as long as we have that CC.

Kind of want UF to do well this season so that they keep their current coach and stay away from hiring ours.

So very true but I don't think UF coach is going to make it. He has been underwhelming from day 1.

Hello?

So has ours.

Right now, the only reason to keep CCS is because of "the devil you know" and the worry that the next guy might be worse.

Hope I'm wrong, though

Can you give me back the four seconds I lost by reading your post?

We have more potential for big wins on our schedule remaining. Houston could end up ranked by time we play them and we could get Memphis in AAC Champ game. I'm not concerned about SDSU beating a seemingly down Stanford team.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
