Well, we made it through the night. As someone else said we dodged a huge bullet here in Wesley Chapel.  Power went out about 11:20 last night and is still out.  The generator is providing us with power to the essentials - refrigerators, lights and ceiling fans. Kids are safe and learned their house never lost power.  So we may be going there for dinner tonight and send the food we were planning to grill here at our house.  Hope everyone else made it through safely.

Yesterday morning the weather guy (a Seminole) on ABC local station talked about how his neighbor (a Gator) helped him prep for 2 1/2 hours.  By Friday we'll forget all the good will that tragedies bring out in people (today is 9/11)  and back to treating our fellow man like garbage. Not directed at anyone in particular - just society in general.

I thought of you today on my drive back from Orlando. Had to detour off of I-4 and take some backroads through Lakeland onto George Jenkins Road by the Publix epicenter and it was absolutely entirely underwater.

Thank goodness my family and I made it through with only inconveniences.

We lost power, and I lost a 80+ year old pine tree that fell away from the house onto the powerlines.  Our whole community lost power, water, and Internet (not due to my pine).  Tuesday night they restored water, and today about 3 hours ago, they restored power and internet.  Now I am cranking my A/C to 62 degrees.  If anyone on the boards in Northern Lake County near The Villages needs a place to stay with Power, please feel free to reach out.

Thanks,

Another hurricane possibly heading for Florida. Its currently a tropical storm but is expected to strengthen to a 3 by thursday and is following in Irma's track.
