I was scracthing my head when I read that article earlier in the day.

I can't imagine a UCF beat writer doing such a positive piece on CCS.

Exactly. I have no idea what brought this about.

This isn't the first time he did that.

He has written a few other articles on UCF and their coach, in the recent past, that were also head scratchers.

There are positive USF pieces in the Orlando Sentinel all the time.

He was asked by his boss to write an article on UCF and he didn't want to get fired?

I wouldn't know because I don't read that paper.

I just remember some of the old articles written by Bianchi and they never seemed to show USF in a good light.

The only other Setinel articles I remember reading concerning USF were written in a neutral manner from the old guy who dealt strictly with recruiting.

Bianchi writes editorials.  It's his job to stir the pot.   The other writers have articles on all the state teams.  More on the Big 3 of course, but the last couple of years especially with the USF resurgence there have been more USF articles.

If the USF athletic department was putting out releases or articles on UCF, I could understand the ire.  Getting mad at reporters for doing their job always baffles me.  It isn't their job to be cheerleaders for USF.

I don't expect him to be a cheerleader for USF.

I do expect him to concentrate mainly on USF, since he is our beat writer.

He certainly can't shine Auman's shoes.

JK concentrates mainly on USF but he also covers the AAC and college football. The article was written during the AAC Media Days and was about the other AAC team just down the road. JK has given plenty of ammo if someone was looking to not read him any more but, IMO, this wasn't one to get all riled up about.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
