An aspiring Power 6 conference should be willing to go toe-to-toe with the competent big boys in non-conference play. I examined the 2017 schedule of every team in the Group of 5 -- Sun Belt, Mid-American, Conference USA, Mountain West and, yes, the American -- to count how many non-conference games each has with Power 5 teams that played in a bowl last season. And anyone making the decision on how much money we get knows the rankings look something like this: P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 Everyone else... Absolutely .... but none of the things the MWC dweeb harped on will be much of a factor either so no need to hate. Reality is the chance of there actually being a P6 is pretty remote, barring something extraordinary . I think Aresco is smart enough to realize that but I just appreciate him giving it the old college try, no matter how futile it probably is.
