I believe in the history of USF Baseball, we've only beaten the eventual National Champion twice.  Once was in 1985 versus Miami when we used to play them pretty often.  The other time was this season, when we dominated the Gators in May.  Kind of a strange stat, but I'm still trying to get over the Regionals still!

Shows you that USF had a great season. Losing the regionals was a fluke imo. Getting to host next season has to be goal.

Guys, you are still trying to get over the regionals if you're digging up a stat like that to try to validate the season they had.  They did have a good season but we need to move on before we think too much and realize that beating the gators may have been the fluke!

We lost to them when it mattered most...no moral victory for me.

Except that we should have beaten the Gators in the Regional as well. We had a ton of chances with RISP and failed to capitalize. Our team was good enough, if we were hot at the right time, to compete with and beat any team in the nation. Look at Coastal Carolina last season. They had a good squad, but they also got insanely hot at the right time. One season later, they fail to even qualify for the tournament.

Glad to lose a mid-week game of no consequence if it leads to hoisting the trophy in Omaha.

National championships in football, basketball, and baseball within the last decade.  The last program to accomplish such a feat?   None.

All hail the University of Florida Gators.

What year did you graduate from Florida?  What era of football did you witness first hand?

On a side note, it only took UF 105 years to win a NC in baseball.  USF has been playing for 51 years.  We have 54 years to match them.  Let's do it.  Go Bulls!

Also took UF 60 years to win 5 bowl games, 85 years to win a conference title, and 90 years to win a NC in football.
